My favourite is Tillamook too! Find it much nicer than Haagen Dasz.

Vanilla Bean and Mint Chocolate Chip taste great and not overly sweet.

That's what separates awesome stuff and shit stuff

It's made from real cream and just ice
Exactly, real ice cream is made with milk. Not all the palm oil based "ice cream" produced locally. Same thing with chocolate, many of the locally produced chocolates, substitute palm oil for cocoa butter.

Father dem rich can pay rm25+ for a cone  tongue.gif

It costs about the same after conversion in Singapore, 8 SGD.

But the same jobs earning RM 2k here, can be paying SGD 2k in Singapore. Paying 8 out of 2k salary for an ice cream isn't so bad, but 25 out of 2k would be a big luxury.

Ultimately the problem is our weak currency.

If you love chocolate ice cream, the Godiva is really good, worth trying at least once.

It’s pretty good. less sugars too apparently
Always read the list of ingredients!
Halo Top has some fillers and a couple of sweeteners in addition to sugar. From the ingredients list: Erythritol, Vegetable Glycerine, Inulin, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Mono and Diglycerides, Stevia Leaf Extract
Wouldn't recommend this.

Halo top taste like hard ice sprinkled with flavors. I find it awful. But if you wanna watch sugars or on keto guess that's what to eat. Rather have a small teaspoon of real ice-cream rather than a pint of that.

Agreed, eat good quality ice cream you like in small-moderate amounts, rather than low calorie/low sugar ice cream that doesn't satisfy you.

Bought DBC and Triple Vanilla. Triple Vanilla literally had 3 different vanilla, vanilla extract, bean and french. 3 in 1. French just taste like those vanilla in those neopolitan ice cream from walls/nestle. The other 2 is more towards pure vanilla taste with extract having a milky taste but mild vanilla while bean has a stronger vanilla taste without the milky taste
Interesting read on why Tillamook has 3 vanilla flavours. My favourite is Vanilla Bean!

We chatted with Anna Ingoglia, a Tillamook Ice Cream Scientist, to dish out the differences between our three vanilla flavors and what makes each unique.

Why do we make three different flavors of vanilla ice cream?

Anna: Vanilla beans are grown all over the world and their origin plays a big role in what type of flavors you taste. Each of our vanilla ice creams, our Old-Fashioned Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, and French Vanilla, has their own unique vanilla flavor we use that gives each its own distinct taste. I guarantee that you can try each of our vanilla flavors and you will definitely find a favorite!

What’s the scoop on Old-Fashioned Vanilla?

Anna: Our Old-Fashioned Vanilla is a really clean, classic, All-American vanilla. You can expect it to be sweet, creamy, and a little bit marshmallow-y on the vanilla scale. This flavor is great for all of your scoop-shop basics such as milkshakes, sundaes, and root beer floats.

Ok, so what about Vanilla Bean?

Anna: Vanilla Bean is what I like to call the fancy sister of the family, and features really beautiful vanilla bean specks. It is similar to Old-Fashioned Vanilla, but is a bit lighter and a little more delicate in flavor. It pairs really well with pastries, such as pie a la mode, ice cream sandwiches, or an ice cream cake.

And last but not least, French Vanilla?

Anna: French Vanilla is really unique because it’s technically a custard flavor. This means we’ve added more egg yolks into the vanilla ice cream base itself. It’s rich and thick, creamy, and more savory than our other vanillas, but still sweet. French Vanilla goes great with bold and sweet flavors such as pecan pie, pumpkin pie, or with coffee for an affogato.

Jaya Grocer brought in two new Tillamook flavours a couple of months ago, German Chocolate Cake and Dark Chocolate Cookies & Cream.

I tried the German Chocolate Cake, it was okay but I felt that the coconut overpowered the chocolate ice cream. The chocolate flavour was too light.

Can't find them anymore though.

Jaya Grocer is too conservative in bringing in new flavours, there's so many more! All they have are the normal Vanilla, Chocolate and Mint Chocolate chip every time.

I always see many different flavours in my local JG (mentioned above). Saw marionberry pie, white chocolate raspberry, wafflecone swirl and coffee almond fudge

I can find marionberry pie, white chocolate raspberry and coffee almond fudge at Village Grocer, but haven't seen wafflecone swirl before.

Tried the marionberry before, found it a bit too sweet for my liking. Now I feel like going to buy a tub of Coffee almond fudge to try tongue.gif

For some strange reason the Jaya Grocer and Village Grocer near my area both don't stock Oregon Strawberry at all! I have to go to a faraway branch to find it.

Is tillamook really that good? The price seems to be lower than other brand right?

And is there any smaller size? I see all around around 1.4 to 1.6L.
*
I'd say Tillamook is good quality at a reasonable price. Other imported ice creams are too expensive e.g. some 400~500ml tubs are selling for more than RM30.

And taste-wise most of the flavours are good. I recommend Tillamook Vanilla Bean if you haven't tried it before, it uses real vanilla extract and beans rather than the vanillin flavouring most other brands use. You can taste and smell the difference.
