I'm not the type that would often check my Mesra points and redeem it for fuel/items from the Mesra store but on a particular day, I was curious to know how much points I have accumulated.

Disclaimer:
- Since the beginning, I have linked my Mesra physical card to my Setel app
- Never redeemed anything using the physical card

6-Jun:
- I shot up my Setel app > Rewards and noticed that I only had 76 points (was expecting more than 5500+ points). I thought maybe rest of the points had expired
- Within the same Setel app, I went into Mesra points history > only to see that around 5400+ points had been redeemed on 31st May 2022 at JALAN ROZHAN (PETRONAS)





- I quickly Googled to see where on earth is this Jalan Rozhan and it seems to be at Penang!
- I was never even in Penang during that time as my hometown, house and workplace is at Selangor / KL
- Quickly chat with them via the app itself and reported the issue > got a case number

Waited for a week+, no reply ( I was told that they will get back to me in 3 ~ 5 working days ). I chat with them again today and found out that they've indeed emailed me on the day that I logged the case but the mail eventually landed in my Gmail's SPAM folder.

So there it is! Apparently, there was a 'technical glitch' in the system causing my points to be redeemed by someone else for god knows what reason.

To all of you, if you have your physical Mesra card linked to your Setel app, please keep an eye on your points!

Point system is to fool stupid consumer just go with which brand that have better FC..

It seems they have turned off redemption for everyone now. Just need to turn it on when you redeem

It wasn't a glitch, it's definitely kena claimed by someone

FYI Setel app now has a feature where you can disable redemptions using the linked Mesra card, all redemptions will only be allowed using the mobile app

Yes, I saw that too. Probably my scenario had became a use case? (Not sure if others also had this points missing issue)


Card is and has always been in my possession. I will only take it out to swipe (for points) whenever I fuel at Petronas

Petronas no longer issue physical mesra card anymore, so yes that is a technical glitch

Setel is riddled with problems since day 1, many still not fixed until now, many were related to security, careful...

I personally think you should directly call their CS instead of emailing or report through live help. It’s quite efficient thru call. Also currently they are having contest, if you met the criteria, you are eligible for the contest entries.

What is the criteria of the contest? Could you explain more?

It's really moving backward they don't issue physical card.
I don't want to use their app...
