Glad your experience is positive so far.

What size and price did you pay for it? If you have a PC/PS5, I wonder if 1440p is supported for gaming.

65 inch Around 3.8k , I don’t have a PS5 but do have a gaming pc with gtx3060, have not plugged it in to try yet but I suppose it will?

So I finally saw the U7H in the wild.

1) You have to set the TV at the correct eye level. Otherwise, it'll appear "cloudy" when it comes to text/objects and black BG.

2) 600 nits doesn't sound a lot. But in a darkened room, it's really bright.

3) PS5 does detect ALLM, VRR and 120 Hz on HDMI 3 and 4. You have to enable HDMI to Enhanced HDMI before it can do that. Use the HDMI cable that came with the PS5.

1) What cause this problem? I thought IPS is sharp and less susceptible to eye level? Only VA must be viewed dead on and U7H is not VA but U7H is IPS.
2) But still very low because Dolby Vision needs 1000nits
3) Does it do 120Hz over Dolby Vision?

It's not about the picture not looking sharp. Because the local dimming zones are not high (32 zones), off axis viewing will look "cloudy" when you have text and black BG. Only in this condition. If you have a normal scene with some specular highlight details, you won't notice this.

This "cloudiness" is noticeable only when your eye is above, and probably below, the horizontal center line of the TV. If your eyeline is correct, the picture is great.

Actually, Dolby Vision content have been encoded beyond 1000 nits. Most often, those are specular highlight details. But because of tone mapping, TVs with light levels below this can handle DV content. Unlike HDR10, DV can encode HDR metadata not just on scene by scene level but frame by frame.

I don't think so. PS5 only allows HDR at the moment.

Did I miss something ?

The Z770 came out in December 2021 at RM5,999. At that time, you could get a X90J for a bit cheaper. So it got ignored.

Now you can buy the Z770 at slightly below RM5,000 while the X90J still about held its price. So if you're a Sony fan, you stick to the X90J. If your budget is max RM5,000, you go for the Z770. If your budget is below RM4,000, then go for the U7H.

The budget always determine the purchase decision.

Need your opinion.
I have 3 months old X90J (screen broken). Got quoted from Sony it will cost Rm2.1k to replace the screen.
Should I repair or buy U7H instead?

Thanks.

Saw Samsung Q65B 65inch selling in senq for 4500.
Is this TV good?
Salesman say qled better than crystal uhd.
tbh, I cannot see any diff.
BU8500 65inch vs Q65B 65inch is rm900 difference.
Should I get the qled version?

To me eyes q65b is no better than sony x70k, let alone x80k which can be bought for 3.8k.

Sony quality hit and miss. And the speakers sounds weird. Macam got hollow sound.
And also the thickness is very thick.

Samsung on the other hand is very slim and modern. Adds to the whole living room aesthetics.
But heard people say samsung tv cannot watch disney hotstar. Not sure true or not.

The U7H does both Vision and Atmos.

FOMO is a US reviewer. The Hisense models available for them are different from what the International and Chinese markets get.

But U7H and U7G for all markets have Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Sorry for your loss.

If the idea is get a new TV with a 3-year warranty or a new screen with 6 months warranty, I'd say a new TV. But you're comparing two different price points and TV specs. Assuming the mobo on the Sony is still working fine, I'd say get the replacement screen for the VA 120 Hz panel and the Google TV interface. Also assuming that we're talking about a 65" TV.

If you're replacing a TV or didn't have one to begin with and your max budget is RM4,000, then I'd say the 65" U7H.

Harvey Norman seems to have them all over.

Also, since Hisense is currently having their promo until the end of October where the price is fixed at RM3,800 for the 65", better get the U7H through retail stores rather than online. Remember that you're getting a 3-year warranty through retail stores than online merchants.

If you buy through Aeon, you get RM10 gift vouchers for every RM250 spent I think. Could be wrong.
