HI GUYS, i am considering U7H or Toshiba Z770KP. Asked the official Hisense Malaysia FB isit VA or IPS Panel they reply me with VA but i asked Harvey Norman and some shop on Shopee they reply me with IPS. Not sure who to trust because the U7H MY version is different from the China and US. Very confusing now even google also cant find any information. Then another problem is the Toshiba Z770KP not sure if it has MEMC, didn't stated on any Shopee shop or even the official website. Asked Shopee and FB Official Toshiba TV they reply me with yes. Freaking confusing and headche with this two, Z7770 would definitely be more pros but just only the MEMC was making me to think of buying which TV.

Toshiba TV is also under Hisense right? Hisense has traditionally only support MEMC on 65" and above.

The reason why I won't consider this brand, you don't know what you are paying for.

However if the seller unit is warranty by Hisense official Malaysia then I would believe Hisense official statement.

Actually MEMC is not as good as you might think. I have a 65" Hisense A7400F which support MEMC and at first I thought my GPU having problem when I kept getting artifact when playing anime. Those natural movement like hair being blown by wind kept giving me black frame. So mad that I swapped out GPU etc and still getting the same thing. That was until I google and found out that it was the BFI (black frame insertion) aka MEMC which caused this problem. Turning it to 0 solved everything. For me, it is a hit or miss thing. Some video works better with it, and some works better without it. Even on my more expensive Sony X90J, it is basically the same problem. Whenever I get really bad BFI (black box every now and then), I would just turn it off.

I thought the MEMC make those 24fps movie/drama become 60fps feeling. ohmy.gif that's why i prefer getting it. If Hisense MEMC present like this then only can get those expensive brand like SONY and SAMSUNG to get the Motion flow.

MEMC on the U7H works. I don't use it but I did test it to confirm it works. There are two settings in the Picture Mode settings: 1) Ultra Smooth Motion - Smooth, Standard, Clear, Film and Custom (where you can tweak judder and blur reduction independently); and 2) Clear Motion, which can help clean up any artifacts stemming from Ultra Smooth Motion.

Enabling USM at Smooth and CM, 30 fps YouTube video looks 60fps. Not 120fps.

If you want to see this in action, just go to any store that has the U7H on display. The Store Mode for TV is always on so you can judge it yourself without touching the remote.

Between the two, you should go with Toshiba's Z770KP if you have the extra money. More zones, Dolby Vision and Android OS. But of course, by now this is a two-year old TV.

VIDAA still doesn't have Disney+Hotstar for South East Asia even though they've been testing it down in South Africa since last year. So you'd have to get an external device to get your Disney+. I suggest FireTV 4K Max or NVidia Shield Pro. Tivo 4K doesn't do passthrough audio well.

VIDAA does have Netflix, Prime and Apple TV native. However, Apple TV is the "light" version. If you have an Apple account and have bought movies and TV shows, you can't access your content using the one on VIDAA OS. You can watch Apple TV+ content, but not your own. With an external device, you can access your content.

Regardless of any TV you buy, Dolby Vision streaming content played through any external device will exhibit 8-bit banding in gradation scenes. The same content played through the internal app, would exhibit no problem.

It's Okay, just got my 65inch U7H today. The MEMC not as pro as Sony one but still quite good at all. Saw Amazon Firestick on Youtube too, maybe will get that biggrin.gif . Overall everything is good if you don't compare to the US version sweat.gif . Only the Final Fantasy 16 disappoint me, cant run 4k 60fps hahaha sad.gif

Yes, can't compare.

Should have bought the FireStick 4K during the Prime Day sale. If you have a HDMI-connected sound system, you can get the Tivo 4K instead. The FireStick would require you to sideload Disney+Hotstar as it's not available in the native Amazon store.

Software, not hardware. Some PS5 games are in 4K@120 but less detail and no HDR applied.

So basically a 65" U7K is about RM5,500 without the "free" gift. I guess they couldn't make a deal with Sony.

This requires a separate thread as it's 2023. Go on ahead and start one.

Obviously not the same as the US version. It's not just Malaysia. It's Hisense USA vs Hisense International. Go with TCL if you're concerned.

Looking from the picture (focus on the TV stand shape and location) available in Hisense USA web page, apparently we are getting the same version as USA this time indeed.

Cant judge by the outlook. Most important is the panel.

Yes. If they can get all VA panels for the entire run and not just for the US market, then we'll get a good TV but without Android.

Android OS is still very important. Don't know why they still want to push VIDAA.
