I have this kind of sidewall damage due to scrapping the fender(one of the nut on the fender). currently keep the tyre as I bought different tyre. The thread is still very thick. the scrapping not untill the steel wire
Is it still usable?
Ask my anything about tires, I am a tire engineer

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Dec 11 2023, 04:53 PM) Depending on what you want. RE004 is a entry level UHP tire. Definitely gives more grip in the dry. VP4 is a touring tire. Should give you more comfort & mileage. QUOTE(ktek @ Dec 11 2023, 06:16 PM) QUOTE(HalseyFrangipane @ Dec 11 2023, 09:12 PM) I'll take the VP4 if these are the prices. I'm looking for better comfort, ree004 is a bit stiff and harsh on rides. Not sure whether it's because I'm using 215/45/17 now since the shop don't have 215/50/17. I don't really hit corners as hard as I used to and driving wise has mellowed a lot maybe due to age and. Last time my experience on VP3 is quite good interm of grip. So VP4 should be better rightDowngrade in terms of performance. Upgrade in terms of comfort. |
