currently using Michelin XM2+ 185 / 55 / 16 and I need to change them soon.

is the Hankook VP4 205 / 50 / 16 a good choice or is it a downgrade ?

running them on a Honda City GM2.

thanks.

Should be an upgrade. VP4 should be in the same category as Primacy

185 to 205 ...

rim size 16inch 7jj et42 ...

7JJ can fit up to 215 safely
but need check the extra tyre width will hit the wheelwell or not

that was what I was worried about ...

195 is the ideal choice for many Honda City GM2 users but sadly the VP4 doesnt come in 195 / 50 / 16 ...

switching back to stock size of 185 / 55 / 16 is an option as that is the OEM size and the VP4 does come in that size ...

Need to ask other GM2 owners that have used 205/50R16 size.

I'm using the same size for Persona 2017. It does hit the wheel arc during nasty bumps.

Planning to switch to 195/50R16 after this set.

195 / 50 / 16 seems to be perfect but not available for VP4 ...

sad ...

what are the next best options besides xm2+ ???
