Recently noticed some grey import of CSC5 from China. Are there any difference in their compound?

That's not the sidewall. It's just the edge of the tyres. That peeling is normal for Michelin tyres.

Sidewall is where those tyres details and branding were.

Personally I dont see a problem. You might as well go and got it patched (more like touch up). I also had a similar cut and I continue to drove like 3K. However mine was leaking all the time and I got fed up having to pump every week.

For me, tyre construction is more about the steel mesh and less about the rubber. Even when leaking, it does so really slowly instead of being punctured and losing all air in an instant. As long as the sidewall steel mesh is not compromised or deformed, I wouldnt worry too much.

I took 205/45/17 RM250 each then RM40 for steel valve (my rubber valve already 9 years) and another RM30 for alignment. Just received the RM100 yesterday in my tng.

Everyone has their own theory so to speak. Some said waiting a couple months for the rubber to cure (like wine aging) while some swear enjoy the smooth and soft rubber compound for noise free ride. I think it is all bullshit for normal and daily driving.

There is only one hankook master in kepong... in sri damansara industrial area. The last time I went there they promote me PS3 instead, hahaha.

I changed a set of Hankook Prime3 for my car but I didnt goto this shop since they do not have my size. Instead I went to Puncak Alam and got it there. Just wait until Raya and see if there is any promotion. Last time Hankook gave back RM30/tyres and therefore I got RM120 back from purchase.

This is the current promotion which sucks if you asked me.
