I have this kind of sidewall damage due to scrapping the fender(one of the nut on the fender). currently keep the tyre as I bought different tyre. The thread is still very thick. the scrapping not untill the steel wire

Is it still usable?

These look like awesome resources. I'm sure I'm missing some understanding due to being a newbie though, does this site or related site have 'tyre 101' to help understand what it means?

Wow... for 2 cars = 8 tyres. What are the big effect on turnings? Must be positive effect lah since you are doing this for 2 cars.

Here's what I found out from the tyre size calculator. Speedometer will show lower than the actual.

Your sport rim width is one of the concern.

Just imagine your feet original shoe size is 8, then u upgrade to 9 and try run high speed and swift into corners how do you feel? Simple logic.

Check your sport rim spec. first before decides.

Thanks a lot littlefire. The tyre calculator is very useful. My stock rim size is 7.0 x 18 so based on the chart, I could still use 225/45/18.

Hi, I recently noticed that there’s green line showing on my Tyre.
Does it mean that I have to change it already?
Stock tyre 5yr+ mileage 52k.

They last longer than rubber valves. Normally the rubber valves get hardened over time & tend to get torn whenever you change tires.

Metal valves you do not need to change it everytime you change tires.

After a few sets of tire change, you only need to change the seals around the valves.

185/60R14 is 1.3% smaller than 175/65R14. So, within tolerance (less than 3% difference).

CC7 is available for 185/60R14 size.

Pros: better than CC6.
Cons: a bit higher priced
