Any new contender for all rounder like PS4?

On my second set now, previous set on previous car did 40k km, current car with current set also done 40k km, about 30% threads left. Will wish to find a similar tyre for the next car that I’m potentially getting, can’t live without UHP, saved my ass countless times.

Size should be 235/40R18. Falken FK520? PS5’s retail price is quite steep.

Yeah, still happy with my second set. Wear is even and performance is consistent in most conditions.

Only gripe is tiny chunks on sipes missing especially on the outer shoulder on front wheel, rear wheel with camber then not hitting that area much. Had same issue from XM2 days 

Hi Bros, i m currently looking for replacement for my Hankook S1 Evo 3 which is around 40k km. I got to say that Hankook S1 Evo 3 is grippy both dry and wet. My car have good soundproofing  and hence i didnt notice much noise.
I am a high mileage traveling between JB and KL. I drive between 160-200kmh and my sedan car is on the heavy side.
I wonder if there is any uhp tyres that is better than my current hankook s1 evo 3?

If you go do research, PS5 actually a downgrade in term of performance when compared to PS4. Just go compare the Traction rating on the tires itself you will know. PS4 - AA, PS5 - A (Only 1 A). The only thing PS5 good over PS4 is comfort and higher wear rating (last longer compare to PS4)

i saw a video from Youtube that they paste the insulator foam inside the tyre wall. I didn't see any one in Malaysia posting about this method. Is this legit and effective?

You want to use in what car?
If normal road car, foam only will add weight and will not help much

If EV, yes this will help reduce a lot of road noise as EV itself already very quiet and any additional road noise with be annoying.

If die die want to buy, just go aliexpress or taobao and buy. Plenty of cheap tire foams from China as nowadays their EV is quite a lot otr.

Budget about 500-1000 per tire
Normal driving. Occasional long distance highway driving.
Preferably smooth and quiet drive
Can accept run flat tire

My car has been running Conti's Extreme Contact DWS06+ for the past few years (recond unit), but will need tyres changing very soon, was trying to find the exact same tyres to replace it as they are quite a good IMO, quiet, grips well on dry and wet, but couldnt find any in Malaysia, closest being the MaxContact 7.

My main objective for the tyres are for it to be a good touring tyres that are quiet and performs well for the average road user, ideally something that is on par or better than the Extreme Contact i currently have. I'd rather spend a few hundred bucks extra now than regret changing to a worse tyre and regret for the next 30-50k km.
Any suggestions will be most welcomed, and thanks in advance

Don't really need performance...looking for price + longevity. How is Goodyear and Toyo in comparison with Falken, Hankook and Yoko?

My experience with VP3 was frustrating. Lack of grip in wet. Very poor aquaplaning resistance.

It was fitted on 2 cars of different sizes. The driving experience was roughly similar.

Drive slow or fast also lost grip. The bad experience dettered me from using Hankook tires ever again.

Tires manufacturer will improve by introducing newer model replacement.
Like in the past Falken a lot of people complain no use during the old ZE522 model, after ZE914 model come out the performance improved a lot.
Manufacturers for sure will listen to complains and improve in order to win back orders.

Agree with DM3 on Hankook Ventus V12 ...it was a great tire until it was no longer in production due to end-of-life product.
I am now on Continental Ultra Contact 7 (UC7) 214/45/R17, and it is unbelievable quiet tires with it's truly engineered in Malaysia story.

FYI, Continental already updated the UC6 SUV tire range to UX7.
