hi
michelin xm2+ 185 60 15  4pcs
recently change to these tyre for vios ncp150

my driver seat side  stated 230 kpa front, 220 kpa rear
but the tyre foreman  ask me to  use 34 psi for all 4

is 34 psi  around 230-240 kpa? suitable for this type type ?  what s ur view

Tires have a max inflation pressure of 51 PSI (its actually much higher with safety margin). The question is what feels comfortable.

I would say use the recommended inflation pressure stated in your door. OEM test this quite vigorously. If you dont feel comfortable, you can adjust this but try to stay within +- 2 PSI.

can anyone help with this? should i just keep driving and check with tire shop later? cos if wan change 2 tire very costly almost 2k sad.gif

Tried pull the flap abit it looks like this[attachmentid=11484705]

and wanna ask for advise also, since i still have 2 PS4's is in good condition, if i change both 2 to front, then back tire i use other cheaper brand, is it okay like tat?

Hi, its seems there is damage on your protection rib. Do you still see rubber after the cut? If so its ok, but would advise to monitor the tire closely and just take more care for this tire. No need to change for the moment.

Regarding your 2nd question. you can change whatever brand of tires as long they fit the size & load index but don't forget you will also get the average performance of all your 4 tires. So you will definitely compromise your braking performances.

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to change all 4 tyres for my 2021 Honda City.

Can I get some recommendation on the following tyres? Which should I get? I got a budget of RM1,200.

1) Continental UC7
2) Goodyear Assurance MaxGuard
3) Michelin Energy XM2+
*
I have tested UC7 (check out link below) it's good if you looking for noise as your main priorities. XM2+ is from the comfort segment which is strong in wet braking. No clue about assurance maxguard though

Need some opinion. Currently using myvi g3 standard rim and tyre. 185/55/15 goodyear assurance tripplemax V1.

I think because of the tyre noise, passenger feel like im driving faster than im really am. So i’m thinking to using a quieter tyre.

After further research i think continental UC7 to fits my need of having quite tyre without having too much compromise on performance or wet safety.

My only concern is below:

1) would it void any warranty coz UC7 smallest size for the standard rim are 195/55/15. While the original tyre are 185/55/15

2) if i turn the steering at full left or right, would the tyre hit the fender?

3) does the slightly wider tyre increase fuel consumption by alot? Or it’s minimal for example less than 5%?

4) would it affect the various ADAS feature?

UC7 is quite good in interior noise but Turanza T005A actually is just slightly better overall in noise . You can see my tire test results below

APAC Touring Test

Larger width means more noise, so what you are doing is counter productive.

Rolling resistance difference between the 2 sizes are negligible.

Need opinion for my wife car's tyre, been 5years and mileage only 5-6k a year. Can it still last for few months based on the condition?

Most important is tread depth due to wet braking/aquaplaning. I would say give it about 5 years more, should be fine.

Opinion needed here,

Should I change my 2021 Vios rim from r16 to r17?
Currently using stock 195/50/R16 tyre and am planning to change tyre soon so am also thinking whether to upgrade r17 or stick to the stock r16

Thanks in advance

What is your main driver in the rim change? Looking nice? From there I could advise you more directly. But from a tire engineer point of view rim upgrades are totally unnecessary.

Hi bro... I am looking for new tyres for my Peugeot 5008 (2015, tyre size 215 50 17). Currently using Michelin Primacy 4. Am looking for other options. I read somewhere that the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 got good reviews and they are cheaper than the Michelin. What do you think...?

Prime 4 is extremely good in wet braking but the rest is a drawback. Can check below for more details
