Has anyone posted this yet?

Roxy Music - Same Old Scene (1980)

This is the template for some of the Duran Duran upcoming albums in the early 1980s.

Very similar New Wave/New Romantic genre, cool bass lines, heavy synth, and funky guitar

Any fans of New Romantic genre?

Songs which are characterised by eerie singing coupled with very fashionable attire. Coincidentally, the bass lines are always very cool and unique.

The first three songs below best describe New Romantic

Duran Duran - Save a prayer

Japan - Cantonese boy

Freur - Doot Doot (the song begins at 1:02)

But some of the later New Romantic songs evolved into something more like pop such as below

Thompson Twins - Hold me now

Kajagoogoo - Ooh to be ah

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have totally forgotten this song Hold Me Now (1983) from Thompson Twins.

Just as catchy as this...

Flock of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away) (1982)

While the younger kids have NKOTB and Michael Jackson, the older folks were listening to fm radio playing Lionel Richie, Ann Murray, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart...

New wave and alternative rock were early to mid 80s. Towards the end of the 80s, there was Janet Jackson... new dance moves that carries into the 90s...
