But it's worth it. You get to rub shoulders with the T1, meow meow, bossku and etc.

Buy over from an existing member. That's normally how people gets it.

Got jalan wan... a few mlm "datuks" i know got it through this way. But it's around 250k back around 4 years ago (now should be way more) cuz you need to buy from another wealthy guy.

But the place actually quite shabby looking haha. Doesnt reflect on its "prestige" status at all. I guess the ultimate goal is to get to know people there.

Call it BS but i was brought in there many many times not to play golf but to makan. Apparently the food inside quite affordable lol.

Membership transfer - impossible no matter under table or whatever. The Club's constitution doesnt allow it and there is absolutely no process for name transfer. You cant even transfer from father to son, let alone to another person. Membership can be picky if potential member dont follow process. I heard of one airline owner applied, but never turned up for interview said 'no time'. He was refused membership and will be tough for him to apply in future due to bad record in his file.

Shabby looking - you may be right. Needs to be upgraded or restored properly and the course sucks, doesnt feel like one of the oldest golf course in Malaysia (1883). I say one of because Taiping golf course is no 1 oldest in Malaysia.

Im not in the league, not sure how they do it but they did it and blow water with the method they got it. (Else i wont be able to enter to eat) even attended one of their dotter wedding.... but I honestly would say the hall looks super run down lolol hotel would be much better.

RSGC allows for corporate members, and does open membership drives once in a long while. Candidates have to be proposed and seconded, and there is a lengthy interview process etc. Most ordinary member kids end up as junior members, when it was my time it was just 5k. Then at 21 you can opt to become an ordinary member. Monthly fees are 159.

Club is shabby, but it's an institution, and recently they have come into a fair amount of money from the govt compulsory acquisition of land around the Kg Pandan roundabout, as well as rental from all the restaurants there. TREC too somehow but I can't remember the details there. But it is exclusive, and for many of the city corporate big guns, it's 36 holes a few minutes away from their office. Gym is modern and good, pools are olympic size, and tennis courts both grass & hard. Also a lot of sister clubs around the world, some with attached resorts. So can go visit some top notch clubs all over the place at special rates.

Also, thanks to all the old school unkers there, they have long resisted f&b prices hikes, and beer is still cheap.

Father has to purchase separate membership (although at a discounted rate) for his children before they turn 21.

Lots of misinfo here, but the one that takes the cake is the ‘under table’ purchasing. Lol obviously does not know the lenghty and strict process that one has to get through to be member.

Most of the clubs in Malaysia are like that. Just my POV. I heard KGNS is also quite famous as many golf tournaments are held there. Sponsors are also big2 ones.
