CR7 is said to actually like ETH.
CR7 is not happy with the lack of transfers and the club is not pushing to build a competitive team for the coming season. He doesn't want to waste his remaining years playing in a team that has no hope of any trophies. He is disappointed with Manchester United's club performance in the rebuild.

CR7 is well within his rights to move. The club hasn't exactly strengthened in the summer transfer window so far while our rivals have. CR7 will continue to be one of the best performing players in a mediocre team and that doesn't look to be changing in the footballing side. Mediocre teams do not win anything.

He has kept his side of the bargain with the performances he put in. Manchester United has not met expectations with him, nor the fans.

Wherever he goes, if he does, I'll keep an eye out for that team to watch their games.

Keep on faith with Rashford? If he failed this season, confirm Welbeck 2.0..something which is dubious due to his activist commitment
*
Ahh, Rashford being Welbeck 2.0.
Here are the numbers :

Marcus Rashford. Club career 303 appearances. 93 goals.
International 46 appearances 12 goals.

Danny Welbeck. Club career 375 appearances. 84 goals.
International 42 appearances 16 goals.

Not such a big difference between the two.

as long as we don't play Eriksen like Mata (play in RW when he is CAM), he should be a very good signing
*
Eriksen functions in Bruno's role. In trying to accommodate both, one might be used out of formation.
Unless Ten Hag tries to do Ancelotti's famous Christmas tree formation of dual CAMs from AC Milan.

Mauricio Pochettino left PSG

not sure kena sacked, resigned or mutual consent?

He was so close becoming our Manager. sweat.gif

Sacked.
He was finished when Mbappe signed his new contract and PSG became Mbappe FC.

Mbappe doesn't like him.

Barca leaked FDJ’s contract

Surely we will sign him now?
*
For me whichever way it ends up, I'm fine.

If we finally sign FDJ, there's no more excitement. Just glad it's over.
And if we don't sign FDJ, will be happy to see how Barca screwed their wage over the limit and what La Liga will do.

United's top 3 transfer positions are still CDM, CB, RW.

None of which are currently filled. If Ronaldo goes, definitely need a forward.

everyone know we despo for these 3 positions, all holding us ransom... lol... we can only sprung surprises on those positions we din openly say we need  doh.gif  doh.gif

FDJ. Lisandro. Antony.
If we get all three, there is hope for the season.

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Jul 6 2022, 12:44 PM)
Hopefully with Ajax getting Bergwijn, their stance on Antony softens. And we legit need Ronaldo to stay or we are in big trouble larh because we are going to rely on Rashford and Martial and nobody know which version of them is going to show up.
*
Martial is much better at CF than most would give him credit for, at least way better than Rashford.
Who knows, ETH may just stick Bruno upfront and play Eriksen behind him.

I don't know what you guys think about the midfield, but here goes the premise.

Even if United got FDJ, our midfield is still looking lightweight compared to the midfield of the Top 6 sides. Which Top 6 side do we expect our team to win the midfield battle against?

I mean at least we have options, FDJ just replaces Pogba, Matic isnt replaced, Eriksen is replacing Lingard and Mata, and VDB is probably also replacing Lingard and Mata role, Fred reprising a ball winner role. Its a not a horrible midfield but its not a major improvement. If Garner doesnt leave on loan maybe he will get some game time in the No 6 role.
*
That's the kicker. Having options isn't quite the same as reaching a level of performance.
I hear that our minimum target this season is Top 4. And yet, do we even have a midfield to match any of the Top 6 sides? Looking at the individual parts in this team worries me for the new season. Plus our top scorer from last season now wants out.

I just don't see any support behind a Top 4 target unless it's good vibes social media all over again.

Yes. Loan with no option to buy.
Doesn't change the fact they got deep squad strength now.

At this point, might as well sign Busquets on a free as our CDM for a season or two. Not the worse CDM in the world.

if he too slow for EPL, will get another round of bombardness.. lol
*
He's the best midfield orchestrator in the world. He looks slow because his positioning is so good, he doesn't need to run.
Like Michael Carrick, who is also not known for high energy press but darn effective.

Even if we sign FDJ, Busquets as backup is way better than McFred at the base of midfield.
Should fit into ETH's passing philosphy as both Barca & Ajax share the same Total Football DNA.

yea but majority fans still regard matic too slow when we kelong no ending last season... haha... not everyone understand his technical advantages haha
*
That's quite true.
Most fans will praise if win and criticise if lose regardless of tactical impact. They prefer to see Passion & Desire FC unfortunately.

I never thought I would have the opportunity to see Busquets running the United midfield. His style of play doesn't need him to cover lots of ground so age is fine for players like him. Look at Pirlo.
Recognize a fine opportunity when it comes up. Plus, stick it to Barca.

They have Kessie as cover already. Barca lose him for free next season.
Will they say no to 10M and free-ing up Busquets wages this season? We can always test.

I like Busquets as well. Always very hard to win the midfield against him
*
One weakness of the United midfield was how they were easily pressed.
Busquets is one of the most press resistent players in the world.

QUOTE(aaron1717 @ Jul 8 2022, 11:13 AM)
doubt ETH will consider him given how youthful he like his squad to be... lol... but hey, there is always blind and dusan tadic in his previous squad... so we can test busquet, but actually i think alot of clubs will wan him if he available for sales...
*
Clubs like Ajax and Dortmund subscribe to the veterans + youngsters model. Youngsters provide the energy while a few experienced pros provide the direction on the pitch.

In other news, Barca are now talking to Chelsea on the potential transfers of Alonso and Azpiliqueta. Barca already shopping aggressively.
Personal terms already agreed with both those players.

1. Spurs
2. Liverpool
3. City
4. Leeds
5. Aston Villa

Chelsea recently concluded their ownership issues. Expect them to make some deals in the near future.

Hmm ... Rangnick said exactly the same thing ...
If that time not working, quite doubt it will work now.
Or at least need 2 seasons to adapt, just like pool
*
Rangnick, as interim, was not given the authority to establish those changes.
We can only hope club management affords the backing ETH needs to implement the playing system.

There is already a video out on one touch passing drills done at United and when ETH was at Ajax. This United team struggled to keep the ball going while the Ajax team made it look effortless.
