SKMM ordered Yoodo to shut down after the Digi & Celcom merger which is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

SKMM today gave approval to Celcom and Digi to continue the merger of the two companies into one. In line with this, several conditions have been set and agreed by Digi and Celcom.

One of them is related to the operations of the Yoodo company. As many are aware, Yoodo is a brand under Celcom.

MCMC requested for the Yoodo brand to be sold through a sales bidding process within 18 months after the completion of the Celcom and Digi merger process. If it fails to sell it, then Yoodo's operation will have to be terminated after 3 months of the first period.

If the Yoodo brand is terminated, then SKMM says Celcom and Digi cannot revive the brand in the future. Celcom and Digi also cannot absorb Yoodo customers.

Not sure why? Maybe to avoid conflict. They have two options, sell Yoodo to other players or close down that Yoodo.

Is it just me or maxis connection is shit this past year. If moving around different area I will have no to poor internet connection despite having full 4g signal. Have to go on & off plane mode everytime only will have back my internet connections. This have been going around for months. Made several complaint but mcm no solutions.

Merger is not even completed. The new entity have 18mths AFTER MERGER COMPLETED to sell off Yoodo and user base to separate company.

That threat to close down if no buyer after 3mths AND cannot absorb customer base is to make sure the new entity takes the sale seriously and not play around thinking they can absorb and enlarge their own user base (then go to town saying they have largest customer base after the fact).
