Saw alot of expensive car using 20inch, 21inch wheel with low profile tyre. Make me wonder what does it feel. Selesa ke? Langgar lubang tak bergegar ke passenger dalam kereta? Normal car use 17 already tak selesa.

Now I know. They dint even feel it πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯
Low profile tyre + big wheel should give you harsh ride.
But expensive car have awesome suspension to suppress that issue.

Yaa. But your backbone will patah due to harsh ride.
Expensive car big wheel but still have supple ride.

Have you seen the brakes on those cars?

Some needs bigger wheels to fit said brakes. More performance orientated cars usually have wider tyres as well so it would look seriously weird running on 60 series rubber.

But yes, higher sidewall typically gives a softer and more comfortable ride. That said, A 265/45/19 tyre and a 195/55/15 has about the same sidewall height.

Low profile tires and wheels will always be not as comfortable as higher profile ones no matter how good your suspension is. Stiffer sidewalls of low profile tires provides lesser shock absorption on rough roads, and hence a bumpier and harsher ride.

Oh and I have yet to mention how frequent many luxury/performance/sport car owners have to send in their broken, damaged, cracked alloy wheels and tires for replacement and repairs due to hitting potholes and uneven roads.

Yes, low profile wheels provide less damping.
But larger wheels are more comfortable as the ratio between wheel size and bump/pothole size is much bigger.
Imagine hitting a pothole with a shopping trolley vs an army truck.
Anyone who has ridden one of these will tell you they're incredibly comfortable. Nothing to do with suspension.

I do i do but just can't brain the logic
Not only big in diameter rim but wider than usual as well

Increase traction, drag? Pump more petrol?

Over a hump, we need to wait for the car to cross zagπŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ macam pondan
