Hi sifu, i need help. Recently i move to a new place but because it is a temporary place i could not commit with 2 years contract of internet. Can anyone suggest me is there any prepaid way to use the unlimited data sim card if i put into one of those wifi 4g Modem. If yes, how reliable would it be? And can sifu suggest the proper wifi 4g modem?

P.S. I tried Unifi Air but the speed is horrible even though in a 4g area.

For unlimited(e.g. umobile GX68) you need a modified 4G modem.

The heat will burn the modem if on 24/7

i have similar issue like TS, would love to know which network is better ? don't have to be unlimited but at least 50-100g permonth is good.

You mean 4g router like for those rm35 Unifi Mobile unlimited for 30 days?

I have been using tplink 4G+ modem, only recently stopped after I have Unifi installed. I used it the whole day and switched off at night when I go to sleep. Yes it is a bit hot, no major problem. Sometimes it hangs, reboot will solve the problem.

I have no reason to leave any electrical things on 24/7. I’m doing the same with Unifi, I switched off when I go to sleep.

Invest in a good modem such as mikrotik wAP ac LTE6 kit. Personally I'm using this as my mobile modem.

i'm using Tenda 4G688 v2.0 4G router since earlier this year.

using unifi mobile rm35 unlimited at my office.
running 24/7 as i pair it with my china mari cctv.

also got TPlink MR200 4G using unifi mobile rm35 unlimited running 24/7 to run chapalang china cctvs to monitor at another office.

so far no overheat issue. all perform good.

me northern johor no fiber using Digi 4G unlimited combo with huawei B618/B818 modem.

since 2018 or 2019 using until now no off the modem unless home area blackout. no single problem on it. i even put it on top my ps4 pro last time, why you worry a problem not really exist?

speed wise need to refer your local 4g condition. for my digi fluctuating avg 30~50mb sometime will dip down to 10+-mb. but if not congested, easy 120+. the best result i got 160mb

I had used Tp link MR600 with my digi broadband sim card, no problem but depends on area la. Not unlimited cause it has quota, so no problem on hotspot it.
