What's your thoughts on this in terms of price? Is it a real small cc sport bike like the R25 or the upcoming ZX25R?
Which would you choose if the price were equal between this and the upcoming KTM RC490 (seems that these 2 bikes will be cousins) and maybe even the R25 and ZX25R (I think there's a CBR250R somewhere in this bunch )?
So far, any comments on CFMoto reliability and spare parts here in Malaysia? I really like the CFMoto in terms of looks (IMHO, nicer than the RC490) but would like to hear your comments on this bike prior to its intro here.
BTW, the KTM picture below is the 2022 RC200 (for reference, as I couldn't find the RC490 picture).

What my wife & I discovered through owning the 700 CLX is that CFmoto themselves don't handle servicing. They only deal with warranty claims.
We were under the mistaken assumption that we could just service the bike at CFmoto in Setapak since we live not far from there. Turns out they're only open on weekdays coz they deal with warranty claims only. CFmoto in Tmn Midah doesn't even deal with servicing at all. We had to turn back to GS Cycle who luckily had started stocking up on the oil filters etc after they had sold out their shipment of the bike.
So make sure you ask the shop whether or not they can service the bike.
So far still too soon to see how much the 490 will cost but it won't be cheap considering the 390 triplets already cost north of 30k. The Chinese version will likely be quite a fair bit less. Probably around 30k
With the expected price of the ZX25r coming in around 40k, it might be worthwhile comparison. Yes the kawa has half the capacity, double the cyc count but similar power. For a sportsbike, I think the high revving ZX25r might be more compelling, but for a daily bike, bigger capacity twins will be more.usable.
Ultimately, it depends on what you want to use the bike for.
Seems it will be competitive against its key rivals too: Yamaha R3 (though we get the R25 here), Honda CBR500R and the Ninja 400. Weight does not seem to be a problem already. Maybe they really learnt how to keep weight down
Its 37kw equates to about 50hp @ 9,500rpm. The upcoming (2023) ZX25 pushes out 51hp @ 15,500rpm. Meanwhile the CBR500R which this CFMoto is targeting has 47hp @ 8,600rpm. Looks like this is shaping up to be an interesting showdown.
Retail selling price is RM29,300 , welcome to visit our dealer for more information and bike will deliver on first quarter 2023. 2 years and unlimted millage warranty for every each purchase of any CFMOTO.
