Filling up race in a government form or IC has no implications to what you can wear, where you can live or what you can eat.
Being denied a home based on skin color is akin to being denied one of the basic human rights (food, shelter and clothing).
What kind of sense of entitlement is this lmao.
Nobody owes you anything, certainly not the owner who has to bear all the risks so it’s only right for them to not take any chance and filter to the max.
Blaming the owner for choosing the best investment even though you are less wanted/attractive as an investment to the said owner is like, in a sense, asking for preferential treatment.
It’s a dog eat dog world nowadays so you can’t expect people to readily help you, much less jeopardising themselves just to help you.
All this talk about denying someone the “essentials or basic human rights” only makes sense when the owner owes that someone a duty, which obviously he/she doesn’t because he/she is not the government.
You can’t be discussing the difference in gravity between essentials and non-essentials when you have no right to expect such in the first place. That’s very presumptuous of you.
If anything you should be blaming your peers for creating that kind of perception.
Or better yet, ask why the government hasn’t done anything to tackle this issue because ultimately the government is the one responsible for the welfare of the people, not the common people.
The best short term solution is to try harder. Treat it as playing a game in hard mode. And no, other races do not get to choose either. It is what it is. Also doesn’t help when your teammates intentionally make the game harder by feeding themselves to the boss.
The force of market will fix this anyway. When there is a lack of “preferred” tenants in the market, those owners will naturally lower down their expectations.
