My new car coming soon

Toyota Corolla cross.

Thinking of doing tinting together with PPF
But one branded tint+ppf brand I quote from
Quote me RM8500 for front part car ppf
I feel it's typo or really that expensive?

1) it is worth?
2) should get full car wrap or just front?

PPF is the best protection you can give your car. Prevents stone chips, and scratches

Wrap should be used as a color change. protection is a little

Ceramic coating is for ease of washing with almost no protection to stone chips

1) depends on person, there not right or wrong in it.
2) for me I will go for full front PPF and just normal waxing for the rest of the car. My current ride is full front PPF + coating, looking back I should just do front PPF and self wax the rest of the car.
2.a) For me Car wrap and PPF is a different item

Personally for me i prefer to keep factory paint.

Not matter how good the paint shop outside will still not be as good as factory paint car which they paint when the car is just bare metal.

That me, to each to its own.

Overall, regardless on what you decide to do. The person doing the job is more important than the brand of the tint/coating/PPF. I would rather go to someone who know what are they doing then just following a standard SOP for all cars.

well if im driving a Ferrari perhaps but a typical on the road car the value of whether it's original paint or not doesn't differ much upon selling. Anyway yeah depends on individual not everyone is like me cause if it is these guys selling PPF would not have grown like no tomorrow.

Xpel or STEK is good.

But spending on PPf is 100% up to you.

My car first 3 years didn't have PPF and full of stone chips cause every weekend I'll drive on highway. End up decide to try respray full front and install PPF and my PPF near to 1 year but going to respray whole car due to too many dent/scratches and need to use for wedding purpose. So going to remove and see how reliable PPF is.

i do full front just 3k+ but is medium package, got higher which more expensive. fyi, mine is sedan. i think you try to survey different shop first.

Personally, 8.5k PPF for a 130k car is definitely not worth. If you dont drive much on highway at high speed, no point getting PPF.

I don't agree the thinking of buy expensive must have money to pay for expensive accessories.

It should be about whether the price is REASONABLE or not.

PPF only do on front is enough. And the price should be around 3k. 8.5k is just kena slaughter.

Even the 3k PPF are good quality ones not the el cheapo type.

yes, but wrap and ppf are two different solutions

Wrap is for color change

PPF is for protection

yes, if the car is mainly use for town use, PPF is a waste of money for a normal car

PPF is a NWO agenda. in the past before PPF, people drove their cars with ease. nowadays need coating, PPF, wrap etc.
but in the end, your money your choice.

Front only PPF should be like 3k unless price already increase.

Read a few CX5 members done it around that price. Try asking a few other resellers.

Frontal PPF can get from 2-5k range depending on brand and material la. Like i said, if you frequently drive fast on a highway, and you personally cannot tahan having stone chip damage all over the front of the car, then yes, PPF is worth it, also based on the fact you feel ok to spend that money on your car la. Full PPF is a bit overkill, more so if it's gonna end up costing 10% of your car price. But money is yours, spend as you wish, whatever that float your boat.

Most well known is Xpel

Secondly magnus pro.

Another dealer is G Guard which I believe they are previously do Xpel before moving on to current brand.

There quite well known detailer AutoDetailer Studio below JayaOne basement parking which using their own PPF too, workmanship wise the best but it is $$

I got mine front Magnuspro PPF with Ceramic pro basic coating (i dont buy the idea of higher tier package). Went the branch opposite of Subaru PJ since the sifu was based there.

My tint i got 3M from one of the member here in LYN (you go check out the tinting thread in this subforum).

I went for some medium one less than 2k? Puchong

And if i knew. I wont package it up with some weird coating. Theres easy coating these days

If you frequent some bad roads or highway. Where lorry drives. Ppf up your front hood bumper and fender.

How much was your PPF and where did you get it done?
*
i got it at a place along jalan ipoh/kuching - if you're interested to hear further can pm me. SA recommended me a thinner layer since i don't drive on the highway traveling long distances very frequently - naturally cheaper, RM4k+ depending on certain addons i wanted from the base package. if i have gotten the thicker one would have been 9k+.

i do recommend to survey a few places and get samples of the ppf. i compared and tested the elasticity of the ppf with the ones from other places and this one didn't break when i applied stronger force to pull whereas other places did. they also demo'd the self healing and stone chips which i was satisfied with.

8500 for full front + tint is inline with most reputable brands.

full body ppf can go up to 12k~15k

My new car coming soon

Toyota Corolla cross.

Thinking of doing tinting together with PPF
But one branded tint+ppf brand I quote from
Quote me RM8500 for front part car ppf
I feel it's typo or really that expensive?

1) it is worth?
2) should get full car wrap or just front?
*
IMO not worth it.. if your car worth more than rm500k yes absolutely, but with only a mere corolla cross.. nah.. normal wax or coating will sufficient.. PPF for hood is good enough.. not the whole front..

The product quality and workmanship maybe is tip top, but still the pricing strategy is really out of this world. The price is too premium and even can be ridiculous to some of us haha.

8500? Tinting is a must so I am not sure how much is tinting in your pricing however if ppf is gonna cost u 3 to 4k, id rather use that money to repaint the car

Driving in Malaysia sure get hit once in a while even tho u are careful, others are reckless so yeah repaint is my option

Done installed PPF brand Oraguard back in 2020 for suv size all front section, both headlamp, front bumper, front hood and side mirror. Installed it at Punchong shop, reason is price. Cz they quoted rm2k for all hence done it. They guaranteed no yellowish but main reason are the price and coverage.

4 years now still no yellowish, but again car rarely under hot sun cz park covered at home. Not sure if tear off the plf will the paint be broke? If yes will repaint the whole car instead

Nah. Think it’s overkill. Ppf for my use case is purely as a convenience to make it easier to wash and maintain the car. Don’t think it’s for me, their after sales and product used are really good though. Have it on my bike and they’ve been amazing thus far.

Anyone with experience from P10X?

P10X coating uses Gyeon product and RhinePro tint. Their Gyeon Mohs+ coating is 10 years warranty but from what I gathered from Internet usually Gyeon coatings warranty is about 5 years max.

Now I am still undecided among Gtechniq, Gyeon, and Revivify. hmm.gif

Been getting good reviews on p10x tint and ppf, was initially deciding p10x or 7autospa, either on full ppf or frontal and the rest on coating, i think i have finally sort of decided on full ppf and likely doing it with p10x

OneRPro PPF is one of the choices too, it offers 7 years warranty. Price wise is higher than P10X but not sure in terms of quality. Any one with experience can share?

I think the warranty against yellowish, many branded one can offer them and able to withstand it for many years. The main issue for most of PPF, car wrapping, once u open it after many years, the paint will pull together

According to onerpro, they warranty against paint peeling when the ppf is removed where they will pay the cost of respray. But since warranty is only 7 years, I guess. Just pull off before 7 years in order to eligible for the warranty. Haha.

I use Xpel on my PPF of my Porsches and I can say with confidence that the self healing properties are as advertised. Sydney to Tasmania road trip and back and not a scratch, despite encountering gravel roads in Tassie.

For those with PPF installed, does the installer cut out around the sensors or just let PPF cover the sensors?

I read from forum some Tesla having issues with PPF over the sensors. Mine will be Kia EV9, not sure should apply PPF over those sensors or just have to cut around it.

How was the condition after 4 years bro? I mean the stone chip and swirl mark visible? Urs got self healing properties? How about the maintenance of it?

Ppl seems confuse about ppf and coating...it serves 2 different purposes, ppf is to protect the paint from scratch and stone chip where as for the coating its like wax/sealant but with hardened layer of protection to protect from the uv and other chemical which can damage the paint.

If u are picky enuff ppf+coating is the best imho. If u can live with the stone chip and scrath...better coating only or just use wax or sealant

4 years still no yellowish issue. Got light swirl scratch maybe due to me doing wash by own all these while. Mine is cheaper version, no self healing. It is still intact on the body area. Next year maybe plan to remove this old PPF after use it for 5 years and check the condition. I saw if do it properly, it will not effect the paint. Else, repaint the whole body then.

The front section are full of stone chip effect but well covered by this ppf

May i know what's the best brand for ppf, planned to do it when i get my x50 mid january 2025, roughly how much is the cost
*
Best = price. Some even quoted me rm8k for front section, they sold me their ppf can self healing when put under sun. But ask car paint shop, they quoted of rm4k exterior paint. So skip. Until 1 day saw one shop in Puchong offer me rm2k for all front section ppf with Oraguard ppf brand, so done it, this price dont have self healing, if want need their premium model. Already 4 years now, still not yellowish. For x70

On 7a ppf for 2.5yrs now. So far so good. No yellowish yet (my car sometimes parked under hot sun).

Workmanship back then was ok (not local worker, but i believe they will get better over time). Not sure if the ppf thickness is really 10mil.

Got some credits which can redeem for a few car wash sessions. Price is competitive.
