Got discount, but not so high la. My wife’s SA gave her 1k discount biggrin.gif
Through door panel gaps. Only troublesome part might be at the rear - but they are pro la. They definitely have experience and tools to do it.

test drive the v spec just now. a bit of traffic on the road, so i cant really push its power or whatsoever but im driving in sports mode. i can only say going up small incline is effortless. going up genting i dont know since i dont have the car yet.

the drive itself is comfortable, suspension i think is slightly on the soft side. so fast corner might feel a bit of the body roll but nothing too bad since most of us just drive normally and not racing with it. visibility is good from the driver side imo.

btw no front parking sensor. theres a side mirrror switch to close and open side mirror, turning off the car will not close the side mirror automatically. full size spare tyre. auto on/off light. i think it has daylight light?

parking brake is auto-engage when gear set to P, and auto-release when you set to D and hit the accelerator pedal. lane watch camera is ok but if you want to nitpick, resolution is meh.

back seat on the side is comfortable, but on the center definitely is not ok. but if for kids to sit in the middle no problem. im 173cm and if i sit in the middle, my head do touch the ceiling. so i would say this car is a comfortable 4 seater but not for 5 adult, just my opinion.

this test drive car arrive at this dealer only today, so it is this car's first day and already been driven 193km when its my turn to drive. from the meter itself, fuel consumption is 7.7km/l when i get into the car.

Nice FR! Well, it’s a suv! If one corner like driving a civic then that fellow is a real sohai liao.! laugh.gif I felt most critics are simply talking coxk ! They want a 130k odds car to be well equipped like a GLC or X3. Lol.

in some ways i do agree with you that some critics is just a bit overboard. i look in fb, since hrv is now price slightly nearer to civic, some compare it with civic and said civic is more value for money yada yada yada.. but in all honesty, some people just want a higher/taller car do not care too much on the driving performance. some may even look at how fast it takes to get from 0-100 and argue about it but in reality, how often do they step all the way on the pedal.
*
Well, said! thumbsup.gif Same as comparing a C klass to an E klass! Some ppl just like smaller and sportier car.

First half review: trip to KL from JB.

Lets get things out of the way. This new HR-V Turbo is miles and miles better than the old 2015 1.8V variant - the only downside is the boot space which is significantly smaller than the outgoing model. You definitely can’t travel with 5 people with all of them bringing medium luggage bags.

Some information that you may want to know:
1. Even though it has (almost) the same engine as the Civic FE, it can’t keep up if it’s on a drag race. You can (subjectively) feel the car’s weight.
2. The car is slightly more fuel guzzling than the FE, and harder to maintain speed than the FE, i’m guessing because it’s heavier & not as aerodynamic as a sedan.
3. The meter cluster, even though it’s physically the same as the FE, the animation, especially the fuel consumption meter (fuel/range option) is different. The HR-V seems like polling every 0.5 seconds & 5% resolution, the FE seems like polling every 0.1 seconds & 1% resolution. The FE animation is infinitely smoother.
4. I noticed that the HRV light sensor is in the cabin, just behind the HU. So those with dark tints will have their auto headlights almost constantly on, similar to the first gen Civic FC. The FE has the light sensor at the same place as the Honda Sensing camera, so it’s not affected by the tint
5. Road noise is comparable to the FE. Wind noise at 110km/h is negligible. On newly tarred roads, at 110km/h the cabin is almost silent with minimal engine roar can be heard.
6. Speakers on the HRV - VSpec is abysmal… maybe it’s because that the cabin is bigger than the FE, so it sounds hollow. The FE has better sounding speakers.
7. The (v-spec) seats are noticably plushier than the FE. It’s more comfortable on long rides
8. The suspension is of course on the soft side, you can’t corner hard without feeling that the centre of gravity is high. It rides rough roads better than the FE.

Some speedometer vs gps vs tachometer comparison
• Speedo 90km/h Waze 86km/h, Tacho 1,750rp
• Speedo 94km/h, Waze 90km/h, Tacho 1,800rpm
• Speedo 110km/h, Waze 105km/h, Tacho 1,950rpm
• Speedo 115km/h, Waze 110km/h, Tacho 2,000rpm
• Speedo 150km/h, Waze 145km/h, Tacho 3,000rpm

To be continued if I have other comments later

Good FR! HRV is heavier than civic? Drag coefficient bet the two diff segments?

Civic FE RS is 1,362KG. HR-V V-Spec is 1,403KG. The drag coefficient is also definitely different (sedan vs suv)
*
That’s explain it! Definitely you will feel the HRV is laggier than the civic.

laugh.gif  i booked early 01/06/2022. SA already gave estimation to get the car by August. Maybe u can check yours and depending when you booked.
*
SA just called my wife, estimated late August! lol. So bored nowadays...need to do something new.

QUOTE(leon898 @ Aug 9 2022, 02:00 PM)
my random google result:

HRV aka Vezel: 0.32
Civic FE: 0.3

Got some correlation. But the diff is small, Perhaps weight and tuning plays a significant role
*
I think they down tuned the HRV. But HRV is a tad heavier than civic, taller too!

*

not try rhb? got cheaper rates, back then.

Was quoted 2.32 before the interest rate hike. Hybrid was 2.29 back then. Dont think RHB is competitive in HP. They prefer to do used and recon car if i am not mistaken.

For low loan amount and still get 2.43%, considered very good dy.

Mine is 90k loan, 7 years, 2.48%
*
Think Cimb you can get lower.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Aug 12 2022, 01:43 PM)
Based on own experience, RHB and Ambank were known to give lower rate of interest for cars, new in my case.
*
Cimb offer me variable rate financing. It’s just like housing loan eg. BLR+ %. Still studying the T & C. Say no to RHB! RHB and public bank customer service sux big time! Actually I prefer Affin coz my current ride was also under their financing earlier.

Just took a short 20KM drive after my car collection last week.

- Turbo performance was impressive and acceleration was very smooth. This is in comparison to Proton's turbo (preve)

- Cabin insulation very good indeed. I didnt realize my speed was at 130KM/h if i didnt look at the speedometer.
*
As days goes by…the interest is fading . laugh.gif Good feedback on the car.
