Illegear Ionic 15 (with 15.6" screen) and Ionic 14 (with 14.0" screen) are very good for office work. I'm a proud Ionic 15 (with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U) owner. With a fully charged battery, I used the Ionic 15 for over 8-9 hours (but I was viewing websites, PDF files, and Excel spreadsheets so they were not very demanding tasks). I recommend Ionic 15 because its 92 Wh battery has higher capacity than the 47 Wh battery found in the Ionic 14. Ionic 15 also weighs about 1.45 kg because its body is made of magnesium alloy (i.e. lighter and stronger than most steel alloys). Ionic 15 and 14 both have either AMD Ryzen 5 5500U (6 cores, 12 threads) or AMD Ryzen 7 5700U (8 cores, 16 threads) processors, up to 64 GB of RAM (have two DDR4 SODIMM RAM slots so can upgrade RAM), up to 4 TB of SSD (have two M.2 SSD slots for storage upgrades), and no discrete graphics card (Ionic laptops are not for gaming but their processors' integrated Radeon Graphics are often more powerful than Intel XE Graphics). For office work, video calls via Zoom, or livestreaming, the Ionic 15 can handle all of them very well. Sze wen liked this post

It can handle them till maybe 3-4 months when the battery gets swollen and you are essentially left with a laptop which can't be used without the AC power adapter. Don't waste money on illegear and get a laptop from internationally established manufacturers who won't skip on quality control. This post has been edited by SaiyanGoku: Jun 21 2022, 01:36 AM Sze wen liked this post

An Illegear sales representative told me that they will do stress tests on all of their laptops to make sure that Illegear laptops don't fail under load. As for the battery, mine has been doing fine over a month now. I use the laptop on battery power, charge it when its battery power is significantly drained (after 4-6 hours), unplug the charger, use the laptop on battery power again, charge the battery after it has been used for a few hours, and repeat the process. Yeah, but in reality, they do nothing.QUOTE(Johnny Tropicsun @ Jun 21 2022, 07:46 AM) As for the battery, mine has been doing fine over a month now. Great, that's the fastest way to get a swollen battery, aka the forbidden pillow.QUOTE(tzxsean @ Jun 21 2022, 10:14 AM) I did. Most laptops have issue somewhat. It's the probability of having issue. Even one of my old Thinkpad (>5 yrs old) have battery charge issue, but it was easily replaced without hassle. You do want to get a laptop that when comes to warranty claims that there is no-hassle to get it replaced or the parts can be easily sourced from 3rd party at much lower price (same/similar quality). I do always go for laptop with easy accessible parts, especially the battery, wifi, ssd, etc. Sze wen liked this post

QUOTE(Sze wen @ Jul 3 2022, 12:26 PM) It doesn’t exist…when you use battery, the performance will be throttle and slowdown at least 50%. So you need to sacrifice your laptop performance when you are not plug in. Macbook have no issues…. Sze wen liked this post
