Reasonable and cheap are not the same.

Reasonable ..... you can have the job done on time with minimal problems.

Cheap ... no comment on service.

You want reasonable disbursement ... DIY part of the work.

I did my own State Consent Application ... the lawyer waived the fees and disbursement

I did my own CKHT submission, the lawyer waived the fees and disbursement.

I did my own official land search, the lawyer waived the fees and disbursement.

And rewrite the title 'reasonable and cheap' !

Agreed with you, but I won't ask a non-regular purchase do their own State Consent or CKHT.

If you submit wrongly the State Consent and rejected, the vendor may have the right to forfeit.

If you do your own CKHT and wrongly file, LHDN can penalty you.

If one dont know to diy, then have to pay for services. But most lawyers do give discounts based on transaction amount. Reasonable ? ... how to quantify.

It is easy to say is expensive when one dont know the scene behind the actual work.

Many clients think that the fees are for physical work but they forget that the professional liability and responsibility are the major part of the billing.

All experienced legal clerks can do the work of lawyers and can 'charge' cheap BUT they can NEVER provide the professional responsibility required.

Many also complain property agents earn 'good' commission and even though one can DIY without the requirement of any qualification, many still engage their services for various reasons.

To me, disbursement is an estimation of expenses. If you print a few copies of docs and charge exorbitant price on paper, thats not reasonable...same with petrol fees etc.
No need to complicate things. Can see which is honest after getting a few quotation.

Legal fees is the real profit from lawyer. so a good discount will be considered cheap.

Maybe i am blessed but i havent encounter a complicated conveyancing case, so dont require any professional responsibility of a lawyer for a case but still pay legal fees.
