Is it all no more bullet or the disappointing rate ?
*
You mean SSB or T-bills?

SSB Jan 2024 issue is projected to have terrible rates. So this round's SSB may be hot.

T-bills are a different story as it depends more on short-term rates.

you manage to get?
*
Yea, 100% allocation since 9k is below 20k.

Anyone applying 20k or lower will be fully allotted. If you apply 20k or higher, then you will either get 20k or 20.5k allotment.

The bank account linked to your CDP account. It's called Direct Crediting Service (DCS). https://www.sgx.com/apply-services

Just curious. Can foreigner open a CDP account nowadays? I have a feeling its impossible unless PR, etc......
*
I don't think so. https://investors.sgx.com/cdp-account-openi...line-form-intro

You still need an SG work pass or student pass (or their related dependency pass), according to the link above. If you click "proceed", you will find that you need a FIN number issued by ICA Singapore, so clearly a pass is needed anyway,

elea88 somehow manage to open hers years back, but she did not specify the process, so I don't know about her condition back then.

---------------------------------

Also, if your purpose of opening a CDP account is to buy SG government securities, you will need a DBS/UOB/OCBC bank account too.

i think most of us old ppl here hv CDP account.

10 yrs ago i walk into DBS and just tell her i want purchase DBS SHARES.
she then open for me DBS VICKERs, dbs bank ac, CDP ac.. all satu kali i think.

its just that i do not have a Singapore address hence cannot take part in RIGHTS SUBSCRIPTION.

So thereafter.. i open MAYBANK KIM ENG.. transfer all my CDP shares into MKE

however realise that to purchase USD or HKD shares the  brokerage is high. So i walk into Std Chart then
the girl open account for me. i just inform her "i would like to open bank and broker ac to purchase USD / HKD shares.

Then later.. come IB. so my USD / HKD shares is now in IB. and some shares still sitting with Std Chart.

10 yrs ago no issue in opening bank ac.
*
Thank you. That's very detailed! thumbup.gif

Can I use IBKR buy this Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB) ?
Can't seem to locate the code. Thanks.
*
You can ONLY purchase SSB via DBS, UOB and OCBC.

SSB is NOT available via other platforms, only MAS-appointed primary dealers (the 3 big local S-banks mentioned above) can sell you this product.

And there is no secondary market for it, MAS is your one and only counterparty.

I have just tried out your good link - can leave the FIN field blank. The system will let you move to the next step.
*
I think the CS will ask you about your FIN later.

Anyway someone reported filling up FIN with Malaysian IC...

But ok lah for our case we already have CDP account liao, no need to stress over such issue. Let the newcomers figure out themselves. tongue.gif

We (Hansel and I) both had CDP account set up already. Our friend DM3 reported success earlier by filling your Malaysia IC in the FIN field, you can try that out too and let us know if it's successful.

I have an old CDP account that is used for trading with PEOMS previously. I can just use that CDP in DBS right ?
Thanks.
*
Oh, you already have a CDP account. That's good news. Yes, you can use that CDP account to apply for T-bills/SSB/SGS Securities directly in DBS, UOB or OCBC.

Just key in your CDP number during the application process. Screenshots are shown below for your reference:

lol nothing to do with Ramjade lah. He won't bother with T-bills or SSB anyway. Given his risk appetite, as we both know, the yields from SG risk-free assets are too low for him laugh.gif
