That's because Ukraine air force is barely holding on fighting against Russian air force. Malaysia air force is more modern with Su-30 mkm and F-18. That's why Malaysia only buy SHORAD because we have combat aircraft to counter longer range air threats.

barely? russian air force is getting thrashed by their air defence.

russia failed to dominate ukraine air.

we have combat aircraft to counter long range threats? We only have 8 hornets and 18 Sukhois.

compared to singapore..they have more than 3 times our fighter jets.

I've great admiration for the conduct of the UAF. Fundamentally using same designs as the Russians, but obtaining operational results far beyond the normal operation envelope, in direct contrast to the Russians. Shows the importance of doctrine, logistics, and training. The MiGs are being used exactly as they were designed for, which is short field take off from rough, dispersed airstrips and they have denied Russia air superiority consistently for 9 months. The planes are clearly being operated close to their engineering limits and are still operating fairly well it seems. The Americans will be studying them for years after this I imagine.

NATO training, that makes the biggest difference.

NATO troops are taught to think decentralized command on their own. So they can fight in small teams of 8

Russian troops all rely on their commissioned officers for command. Imagine if your CO is dead, 100 headless directionless troops running around as sitting targets or canon foders.
