Before the Ukraine conflict, military so called experts say the artillery system is no longer relevant in modern warfare, precision guided rockets and SSM systems have taken over the role .. but the Russians are proving the opposite , WW2 style artillery is still very effective .. rockets and missiles although very accurate but expensive and there is not enough quantity to be effective ..

Speculated to be Singapore - see video above on the German/Israeli Sigma system. Standard rounds - 40km, Excalibur - Abt 50+km, vlap - > 60km.

But we dont know for sure if it is really Sg.

Even so, we can expect Sg to alter it.

What is more impt r the munitions. St Eng is a recognized precision 155mm munution supplier. They have decades of R & D e.g. extra range rounds, cargo rounds, etc.

No. The incident involving the Sg actor in the Primus is because the SOP was not followed.

Sg wants an automated system because 1) faster and more efficient 2) precise and linked to its BMS networkd and 3) less manpower intensive.

Let the 5th generation MRCA matures and operation costs go lower and more choice then only decide which to buy ..
*
Technically we can even skip the 5th gen altogether

RMAF plan is to equip 2 squadrons of 12 jet each and thus with rotational there's enough airframes to last 20 years.

Basically the gov can push the MRCA acquisition to 2045.

Russia artillery only looks like it works because they are fighting quite a weak opponent like Ukraine who don't really have much modern training or weapon systems. Even 2nd hand F16 is a huge upgrade to them. I think even Singapore has more advanced Leopard tanks than Ukraine lol.

And basically when Russia take the town after using all the artillery, it is basically razed to the ground and useless.

Saddam had a lot of artillery, but in a few weeks all gone. And Baghdad was still in one piece after the war.

12 jets for 1 squadron feel abit low in numbers, maybe 16- 18 jets per squadron pack more punch?
if for next 20 years RMAF can have 2 squadrons f/a-18 and 2 squadrons f/a-50 , it would be most idea situation for RMAF.

Syarat pertama. Kena dapat kebenaran US. Sbb syarikat US Boieng ialah pengeluar jet Hornet. Jadi kena dapat kebenaran US.

Kuwait is replacing its legacy Hornets with Super Hornets it just bought.

She is not selling away the newly bought Super Hornets.

https://news.usni.org/2018/06/28/kuwait-fin...8-super-hornets

Hornets and Super Hornets are physically different aircrafts.

Any more then that can't rotate the airframes to last 20 years.

Who knows maybe we get more retired hornet in the future. There's plenty of those out there.

Note: This is a concept. The initial buyer may need to fork out a lot for development and tests.

Singapore, South Korea to form strategic partnership by 2025; boost economic and defence ties

The upgrade is ‘not just a change in name’, says Prime Minister Lawrence Wong

‐----------------

This is as close to a treaty alliance (which Sg has eschewed in its diplomatic relations with other countries) as it gets.

Union of the 2 Asian developed nations one rung below Japan is a critical development. Both have well established defence R & D and industries. Most importantly - both countries are rich!
