Hi Sifu,

Actually I open thread on kopitiam. I think open wrong place.
So I post here. Any sifu here own this car and knows where to mod and get spare parts?

1. What kind of mod can be done to the engine?
2. What type of ECU can be install?
3. What kind of air intake can be install?
4. What kind of suspension can be use?

I am getting this 2nd hand car.

its depend on how much money you willing to spend.
car modification can cost lots of money.

if light modi, just do
- port and polish the intake and exhaust.
- change extractor and exhaust system
- upgrade to open pod air filter
- change cam to higher profile 1

ECU can use standalone 1, like LINK or E-Manage but can be pricey.

Suspension better use adjustable, better than lowering springs, IMHO la.

Direct buy halfcut from Japan & transplat over..
Got V6 KF engine 2.0L some come with LSD manual gearbox..
In Japan, it is knew as Lantis Type-R
https://www.cars-directory.net/specs/mazda/...s/1996_7/15495/

If go for B8 turbo engine, need to customize or add piggy back wiring.. Some more gearbox still remain the same.

Proper turbo mod is never PnP. From ECU/Piggyback, piping, cooling system, piston & con-ron also need to upgrade to suit the turbo requirement.

back in my uni days a good buddy had a laser tx3 with the 1.8bp engine.. non turbo. it was a real nice torquey car. i am assuming yours is a 1.6. sometime back i found a complete BP turbo halfcut, rare item these days. I would say keep the engine stock and play around with handling and learning the car. Any car can be pretty fun once u learn to carry more momentum into the corners. Those B8 turbos back in the days were really balls to drive, tons of power onto the front wheels and massive amount of torque steer. Refurbish the under carriage take away the suspension free play that has probably developed over the years and u have ur self a fun car.
