The price become quickly similar to the E6000 series. Unfortunately, older chipset wont work.

As core architecture does not seem to increase much performance of very high fsb, if u want a record breaking result, just wait for higher multiplier processor. Or else go for Extreme Edition instead.

The transition is unexpectedly quite slow. E84 should be priced under RM700

The new quaddies will be on C1 stepping which solve fsb bug. Unfortunantely the cheapest Q9300 is nothing better than Q6600 in terms of oc.

QUOTE(irenic @ Jun 3 2008, 02:43 PM) not necessarily true. rite now my x3350 is @ 3.8GHz and although it fell a bit short than my Q6600 that can do 4GHz, the cpu score for x3350 @ 3.77GHz is already beat the Q6600 @ 4GHz.. For almost everyone here the only cons is very expensive. Add more than RM500 so it's hard to say 65nm beats 45nm, or the other way round bcoz both has their pros n cons.. |
