actually..it depends on what purpose of your rig..quad really good in video encoding/editing..performance wise..stock HSF already fit for stock speed..extreme oc should go for 3rd party HSF...

e8400 is a really good proc..but i do a lot video work..so not worth for my money..wait a while..today e8400 price really damn 'nice'..!!

they put it in the list quite long time ago..when u call them,no stock..

E8400 vs Q6600

both are great..and perform in different condition/task at stock speed..

but quad more advantages

if u plan just for better gaming, surf, movie,save more watt..i recommend u e8400 if got stock

but in my shoes, i do encoding, video editing, rendering, and gaming of course..so, quad is my choice

if i dont do this video job thingy..i'd rather buy E8400..its 45nm

hmm..q9450 next week..thats cool..

but i'll stick with my q6600 until true powderfull native quad core that fit my budget exist..let see who will produce that..
i'm using intel for the first time after my duron and barton

i heard AMD tested 45nm native quad core at CeBit..they will produce it end of this year..maybe by that time, intel launch nehalem..

seems Q6600 is good to G0 with..

thats true and 1.1k stated at the price tag

Q6600 quite close to Q9300 in term of performance...

neither do i

it has bigger cache than 9300...
