I can't comment much on Malaysian toto/4D buying habits, but the Singaporean staff I have all have their little quirks (and yes, interestingly, even the 2 Malay staff I have all buy 4D at Singapore Pools haha).

For example, just a few days ago, one staff member saw a trash can being accidentally set on fire by a cigarette butt. She helped inform the shopkeeper and the fire was quickly doused. She then looked at the time, converted it into 24H, bought the numbers. She then looked at the shop address, converted that into numbers, and bought that as well.

She won $1,000 and we all had a small treat at the practice.
