Hi Biker Base.

How are any of your experience owning and riding the Modenas Pulsar NS160 & NS200? Is the service and spare parts availability good? I am considering to get the NS160 since it's a smaller cc with 12L oil tank. So I think can tahan lama without refueling.

NS200 easily do 300km on a single tank at highway speed. Usually the fuel level will blink at 300km but when topup its only 9l till brim.

NS160 can't do the same at highway speed because of the smaller engine.

Its not a Honda so no, you can fuck off.

Ktard's bullshit aside both bikes share the same frame, bear in mind that NS160 is an air cooled 160cc in a 150+kg frame. You will feel it being underpowered. If you can't stretch the budget to fit a NS200 you'll be better off with a used Yamaha FZ since its significantly lighter and has better aftermarket support, or you can explore the second hand market if you've got about 5-6k to spend in cash and not looking to finance.

Spare parts wise Klang Valley has you covered for the most part, other states you may have to preorder first (surprise surprise, Malaysian market favours smaller cub bikes), Coming from cub bike you may run into trouble with your typical ching chong chop shop so make sure there's a service center or a workshop near you that knows how to deal with quarter litre bikes.

Be prepared for typical DRB-HICOM QC shenanigans. Fork leak appears to be a more common complaint with owners who have had bad experiences which I also experienced along with a rear brake that did not work properly straight out of factory.

Bike is also significantly heavier than even 250cc bikes since it is made out of cheap heavier materials, but you can expect better ergonomics and a more comfy seat than a Duke 250 for travelling. Do NOT expect to go heel scraping on this bike, you will mess up the leg pegs first.

Fuel tank and consumption on the NS200 is enough to get you from Sg Buloh petronas to Penang on a single tank. Being a detuned Duke 200 engine block also means major maintenance is still very affordable, you can do deliveries the whole day on a single tank if you wanted to with some leftover fuel to spare.

Do not expect to be able to race modded Y15ZRs on the highway. On GPS the bike will only do above 140kmh tops. Its still enough to bully overpriced non-modified RXZs but that's the most you're looking at.
