Hi guys, just trying my luck here, helping a neighbour to setup his internet.

he is using pr1macomm fibre and wanted to change to a new router, the technician gave him the pppoe details but didn't manage to connect to the internet.

the modem provided is dasan h665 and its in bridge mode.

wanted to try to setup the vlan id but already tested with most vlan id i can find using google, 629, 1001,1600 (for digi, tested using speedtest and it shows digi, so i assume it is riding on digi punya infra)

the router is a tp link router, archer c64 i think

if there's anyone here are using the same isp, maybe can share?

he will contact the isp on monday but if anyone can share the details, maybe can save the hassle of the technician to come over again.

those stock ONU SFU (Switch Fabric Unit) no way to tell PON VLAN via GUI...

if you can enter ONU telnet or ssh, there is chance to show available VLAN like this:

TM Fiber, Maxis Internet:

Thanks for the reply, yeah, just thought maybe someone can somehow share their config here during the weekend

anyway, already got the vlan id, its 300, for those who are using pr1macomm

and if someone can explain how are they capping the speed, it will be helpful, my neighbour got a higher speed than he subscribed, from 2 digit to 3 digit, it was the subscribed speed after the initial installation.

it can be many factors about bandwidth management.

GPON has T-CONT (Transmission Container) either can be set at ONU or OLT.

second bandwidth management is from PPPoE account, this software mode to limit speed, can be configured to boost only in speedtest to fake the results and shut customer mouth.

mostly short bursts if for to keep customer shutup 🤣

or.. T-CONT bandwidth limit not set, use different PPPoE account for extra speed.
