Hi all,

To send a small parcel to an international location, lets say America, which is the cheapest to use? Parcel consists of a personal item not more than 250grams. I checked Pos Malaysia website and it costs RM22.80. Any other cheaper alternatives?

Thanks

Ive been very familiar using POS MALAYSIA as I am posting lots of stuff to USA every week.

RM22.80 is the cheapest I can say with Normal International Shipping with will takes 2 months to arrive. Yes 2 month! POS MALAYSIA will said in a month but actually takes 2 months. Take my advice here.

Better you use any other express courier services but a bit expensive la. Maybe you also can us POS LAJU INTERNATIONAL, that would be more reliable. With RM100 below 500g, your item guaranteed to arrive in a week if you not ship illegal stuff where it will stuck at customs.

You also can track the package. By the way, POS MALAYSIA tracking service is sucks.

You can email them at ems@pos.com.my to get info on your package, they will reply your email smile.gif,.

Above email is one of our fellow Malaysian don't know about. He2.

2 months to arrive?! That's too long. And as for Pos Laju International being RM100, that's too expensive.

My criteria is 2-3 weeks most to arrive and between RM20-30 for 200-300 grams. Are there any other services besides Pos Malaysia? Or is Pos Malaysia the only cheap one available?

Alright new question guys. If my parcel is really thin and small, can it actually qualify as document shipping? It's just a piece of cloth inside.

Nope. even u get trough at POS MALAYSIA. u will stuck as customs. Declaring item and document will give full cause customs to reject ur item. Customs reject ur item means it will lost forever.

Guys, I think you have all mistaken. Here's what happened.

I went to Pos Malaysia. I had my package in my hand. I told them I wanted to send this to Australia. And they weighed it. I told them numerous times it's cloth inside. She said, this will cost RM 12.60 and gave me that amount in stamps, a Mel Udara sticker and a customs declaration sticker. I asked how long will it take to arrive, she said 2 weeks. It's just RM 12.60! That's it! And 2 weeks delivery time. I mean, if their figure is off, most it would take is 1 month.

What's with all the 2-3 months figures and high rates? All I need is some stamps.

LOL...

There is difference in speed when you pay more.

For example, I bought a headamp from Canada. Posting cost USD13 alone, and I got it in a week.
Before that, I bought an Alpha CPU Cooler from USA. Postage is a mere USD8. LOL... waited 7weeks.

And lately I ask for some opamp sample from National Semiconductor. Paid USD30 for shipping and only takes 2 days. No difference? Think again...

I am not talking about receiving a shipment here, I am talking about sending one. Of course I know there is a difference in speed when you pay more, but I am not looking for speed. As I said, my criteria is 2-3 weeks, and between RM20-30. I manage to achieve that with mere stamps. You do not have to go through normal courier services for a 200-300gram item which takes 2-3 months to arrive as said in this post.

It's a padded envelope which is quite large, got it in the convenient store. My piece of cloth is really thin and light so no probs.
