a base level 1.8 costs only 21.5k aud, so its very possible for him to be able to afford one at 18. the average wage per hour here in about 13-15 for most establishments, so if he's a student he stands to earn 600 a week, or 2400 a month. he'll be able to pay the car off in less than a year if nothing is spent from the wage, but if he's a pr with no 20hr work limit, a 40hr work week will earn him 4800 a month, in which case he'll be able to pay if off in less than 6 months. financing though, is hard to get if u dont have a fixed job here and ur just 18.

20k on hand, save another 5k, get a dc5, easy peasy. no need to go thru all the trouble of transplanting and stuff, remember, the labor here will make up the biggest portion of the mod costs.to mod it totally like a ctr might cost u up to about as much as another brand new civic, so might as well just drive it now, sell it later and get urself a dc5. btw which mcd u workin at? williams? barrack?

20bucks sounds awfully fishy for maccers though.. especially if its after tax cos as far as i know the 18y/o age bracket only pays 15. hardly any fastfood outlets pay more than 15 unless ur a supervisor, which might get u around 17 before befits. 20+ are usually paid by companies like myer or restaurant waiters or barristas. so which outlet are u working at? let meet up and talk about cars smile.gif

btw, how did u secure the finance for ur car? or did u buy it with cash? anyway when u finally wanna transplant it, remember to get a certified technician to prove that its roadworthy else u'll risk getting a yellow sticker.

well i'll give u the benefit of doubt john, but what does studying have to do with meeting up? not like u'll study the whole day rite? which uni u in? uwa? curtin? murdoch? ecu? i drive here too so i don't mind fetching u back after a meet up cos it seems that u like cars too so that'd be fun wink.gif

anyway, my gf worked at nandos as a supervisor, 13.5p/h, had a friend that worked in subway as a supervisor, 17 p/h, had friends who worked in hj, 13 p/h, maccers 15p/h max. kfc i have no idea though. i might need a job early next year, so any idea how i can get your 20 p/h?

btw, i'd also love to know how u got ur financing for your car cos i plan to sell off my current mitsu and get a new jazz. my main concern is that the bank would not grant me a loan without a full time job. any ideas? hopefully this time u'll reply me in full rather than use one-liners targeting only particular parts of my questions that u can answer.
