Had some decent clubbing place but later on heard there was a push for bigger bumiputera equity then shit hit the fan and then become a shit hole like.
Of course higher cost of living, weakening of ringgit and MCO hasten it's demise. |

QUOTE(mowlous @ May 14 2022, 05:46 AM) I remember before pandemic I wrote a lengthy email to management regarding their mall white gating and actually expect them to survive compare to other place. How did you do your assessment? It is obvious it was a shadow of its former self. Never expected them to flip over so bad. QUOTE(c64 @ May 14 2022, 05:52 AM) Yes. E-curve was dying even before pandemic. The Curve was still ok though. Haven't been there long time eventhough I stay nearby. Maybe go visit soon. E-curve dead, curve was ok-ish but on the way to death already. Frankly curve was supported by e-curve's cinema, ikea and tesco. When E-curve/cineleisure died, it affected traffic through curve as well. After ikano revamped, ikea customers also have little reason to go to curve except for eating. Dont blame living cost, MCO and weakening RM lah. Its primary just the first part. You go pavilion and suria still packed like gila.Of course higher cost of living, weakening of ringgit and MCO hasten it's demise. |

Bad management and policy....Managing a shopping mall is the same like managing a country. Short sighted policy and half bake management will bring down the shopping mall/country.
Its lucky to have Ikea, otherwise should have been gone 5 years earlier. This post has been edited by Singh_Kalan: May 14 2022, 10:14 AM |

QUOTE(Muchafaka @ May 14 2022, 06:08 AM) Your definition of dead prob different from mine, atria and starling aren't as bad ...... dead mall to you maybe little traffic not many shop option, but still with some active component. maybe the mall is on a 60% occupancy. Real DEAD mall to me is occupancy is about 25% left. In this case the curve looks to me going to be abandon soon, almost like unplugging life support. Shop aren't closed, they are empty. QUOTE(TheEvilMan @ May 14 2022, 06:44 AM) You share the same answer with the guy above.QUOTE(code10 @ May 14 2022, 08:45 AM) U terpancut la u.QUOTE(silverhawk @ May 14 2022, 09:31 AM) How did you do your assessment? It is obvious it was a shadow of its former self. When I walk mall for survey I check for shop brands, store items, traffic flow and category. I've expected mall to shred about 20% for top mall in the city and maybe 35% for average and below average mall. This is the first mall I step on that shred almost 70% of whatever my record was before this. This means if no one take over the curve will permanently be closed and abandon in less then a year. Unless the owner willing to burn money to keep a zombie mall burning.E-curve dead, curve was ok-ish but on the way to death already. Frankly curve was supported by e-curve's cinema, ikea and tesco. I remember quite a number of arrogant Malay stall sellers on the pavement walk. Then I no mood go there.
Nothing of value was lost. |

Used to be after IKEA you head on to curve. Now there's no need most stuff can be found in Ikano.E-curve dead, curve was ok-ish but on the way to death already. Went there earlier this year to check out the Borders for some things. As dead as you say but I chalked it up to not fully bukak. Looks like it's real tough times now |

Curve can only survive with upper M40 and T20 ppl. Government racist want to kill off all private sector since they think it's Chinese based so now become a shit hole la.
Then when comes to Malays, Malays like to have 3 children or more, so likely Malays will focus on bare essentials namely IKEA and Tesco. This post has been edited by Myk Hyn: May 14 2022, 04:52 PM |

QUOTE(delon85 @ May 14 2022, 06:20 AM) Don't forget 1u giant mall too. starling used to be good when it first opened, many good eateries and ppl mainly go there for meals then jalan jalan abitI think only suria klcc can survive cos its central. Haven't been to nu sentral in a long time so not sure about the shops there. edit: and I expected starling to do better than 3 damansara and atria. Don't know who approve so many neighbourhood malls so nearby 1u. but now the eateries inside alot of them closed down ledi, the only good one is the kam kee restaurant, it basically have no appeal anymore, no reason for ppl to go there now |

QUOTE(mowlous @ May 13 2022, 08:13 PM) When pendemic happen I stopped visiting mall. That time e-curve was under renewal and the curve is still buzzing even though it seems like not able to keep up against 1u. I work here for more than 10 years and still working there. Last time alot of traffic from KD and DP people. What really killed the mall was Covid. F&B 2 years MCO cannot tahan. Most of the office crowd continued to work from home after the reopening. Even Lotus got less cars during workdays.Fast forward 2 years + later after we lift restrictions during Raya I decide to visit the place. I was expecting maybe a little run down but still would be an ok mall. Holy crist the place is so dead there is barely anything left worth visit. Almost all the food stall closed. E-curve sealed. No decoration, no event. Everything bare minimum and even if some stall still operate their inventory shrunk so bad it's worst then 2 years before. Wth happened to the mall? I use to categorize mall for survey purpose and this was one of the A+ mall before the pendemic. Now this look so bad under its almost down to a F class mall. Very sad and shocked. Anyone live nearby and often visit can shed some light on what happened? |

I'm surprised it's not doing well.but now the eateries inside alot of them closed down ledi, the only good one is the kam kee restaurant, it basically have no appeal anymore, no reason for ppl to go there now It's crazy to think that in that small area has 4 small neighbourhood malls.
