Anyone here got any recommendations for VPN service to use here in Malaysia. I am currently using weVPN but now cant seem to access it via the app anymore, only via the browser extension, like as if kena blocked. But anyhow, im also looking for an alternative mainly for Netflix access from overseas. WeVPN started ok last time, but then netflix kept detecting the VPN and kicked me out each time.

I am considering NordVPN and SurfShark, but does anyone here have any experience with either? especially when it comes to speed and access to netflix?

note that these vpn are not privacy focused. True privacy focused that I know of is mullvad but no netflix.

Last I used was firefox vpn as it's the cheapest when choosing monthly basis, unlike others.

Nordvpn. I just bought it and pretty satisfied with its service. Fast and simple to use.

Purevpn is garbage. Always experience timeout and slow browsing every time i connected it. I was using Purevpn before i changed it to Nordvpn in this month.

Express Vpn is pretty good but it is kinda expensive.

And yes, Nordvpn can connect to Netflix.

Shopback sometimes have upsize cashback. So your vpn ends up being really cheap. Last time nord had 90% cashback via shopback.

I rarely use vpn but I heard that Proton VPN is well known for its security and safety, downside is pricy.

Hows your speed? for eg. AUS server and US server. Another member here shared his/her speeds. for a 100Mbps down internet connection, he/she got 90Mbps for AUS and around 44Mbps for US server.

Hows the speed for u? eg. AUS and US servers? and Netflix u had any issues with Nordvpn before? Some said that Surfshark can access, but sometimes it gets disconnected, does that happen to NordVPN too?

Trying to justify the price difference between the two.

I always connected the Singapore server using NordVPN and I ping it to US game server:



I am not sure whether this is optimal speed or not but so far, I have a pretty good line when playing games that are based on US server with Singapore IP. All I know is if I try to play the US server without a VPN the game will be laggy like hell. I have better ping if I am playing the server that is located at SEA though. Usually around 80ms.

Yeah, seems like the consensus here are surfshark and nordVPN, but i think more here are using surfshark, probably coz cheaper also.

Black friday a bit too far away. So far cheapest pricing with vouchers for Nordvpn now would come up to $3.09/mth (2 year plan) and $2.21/mth (2 year plan) for Surfshark. Just scratching my head to figure out which is better, both also seem to have good reviews from LYN members.

oh nice, do u know how the cashback works? a little bit confused on the 70% cashback. Does it mean its applied as a coupon on the original price? or will we get an additional 70% cashback after the discount? seems a little odd to give so much back no?

for mine, it work like this > blackfriday deal at USD89 for 2 years, then cashback 80% given in SGD90+ after 1-2months.. so it gave me cashback for discounted amount on checkout
