Hi, I'm not sure which forum to post my question, moderators, if you know of a better place, do move it, hope someone can help me. I'm planning a server room for my factory, and at the moment I'm planned it such that it'll be able to support 3 41U racks.
However, upon calculating the weight of a single rack with Dell's Datacenter application, I noticed that a single rack will take up to 750kg~ at full load.
Putting 3 of these babies, will mean up to 2,250kgs on the server room itself, 19*12 room.
Add in air cond, furniture, it can top up to 2,500kgs!
Can a factory floor support such weight safely?
Im looking for information on building regulations, is there any laws in malaysia that states how much weight a floor must support?
How else would I be able to find out the floor structure strength?
Also, how about power requirements?
It says ~5,500 kWatts per fully loaded rack.
I'm not too sure about the technical lingo when it comes to powering the server.
What is the best way to power up the servers in there?
AC from Grid > UPS > PDU?
If I have a PDU with 14 sockets, then wouldn't I need a huge ass UPS as well? To support all the servers connected to that PDU.
Any help would be great.
Server room power, weight advice?
