Use fipronil. Easiest and most economical for domestic scale formulation is bayer regent pack, wettable powder form.

if you are not comfortable with poison, you can try with eco bait (gel type), it works for me.

Imidacloprid would kill too fast, reducing chance for it to be carried into colony. Thats why its mostly used in foliar application.
