Just now randomly saw one parked X70 premium with Double Coin tyres installed. 19inch rim.
Wondering if this brand good or not?
Can't find much info about this brand except they do a lot of commercial tyres.
Anyone tried this brand before?
Thinking of using this to replace the factory fitted UC6 when worn out.

The tire you mentioned is budget tires from China. If really so tight in budget at least go for the top 3 brands from China.

https://www.grip500.co.uk/guide/ranking-of-...t-chinese-tyres

1/ Zhongce Rubber Group Co., Ltd. :
The manufacturer behind the Westlake, Chaoyang, Arisun, Goodride, and Trazano brands. They have a 4.5-billion-dollar turnover, and their tyres are sold by more than 10,000 companies in 120 countries.

2/ Giti Tire (China) Investment Co., Ltd. :
The manufacturer of Giti tyres, 70,000 points of sale in more than 130 countries, more than 3.5 billion dollars in sales. General Motors has established a long-term partnership with Giti.

3/ Sailun Jinyu Group Co., Ltd. :
The result of a merger between Sailun and Jinyu tyre manufacturers. This group manufactures more than 35 million automobile tyres, holds 140 technology patents, 70 conformity certificates worldwide, and sells in more than 80 countries.

From this 3 companies, i would prefer to go for Giti or Westlake tires. Giti tires is more reputable among Asean due to their long presents in form of sub Indonesian tire brand - GT Radial.

it is cheap for 19", just that you cant afford it that's why it is expensive, try to compare the price with other brand of that size you will see it is cheap or not, and this year tyres price increased a lot

if you want cheap then go for more common size wheels like 15", 17" or 18"

there are other brand like farroad, viking, landsail, yatone and westlake too, go and survey around

and SUV tyres usually not cheap due to thicker sidewall hence more material used

I only buy proton leh... The car value for money ma.
And I want to have the spec with best safety feature. And only the top spec has ADAS.
I choose ADAS, not the 19 inch rim.

You think is it worth to get branded ones at 600 range vs China brand at 400 range?

I don't mind UC6, just surveying for alternatives.
If no alternative will buy UC6 again.

Not to complain the 19" tyre expensive, just want to survey for more value for money brand.

X70 is a good car, from china. Who knows China tyre can also be good, or even better than the "branded" ones.

Eg. Adidas slipper is good, but Asadi also not bad, at a much cheaper price.

Err do you think the forces and speeds applied to car tires are similar to human shoes?? There is a lot of research, development, investment and technology in tire design and that's why the good brands charge premium prices. So yeah the answer to your curiosity is an absolutely no, at least not for now. If you want to get value for money, at least get Hankook, Falken, or Maxxis but avoid those very cheapo unknown China crap.

owners of X70 full spec is gonna be hit with the price of replacing their 19' rims. Due to it being SUV and size 19, the price range definitely on the high 4++ for those unknown china brands.

Saw a few x70 with almost non-existent tire threads. Well, normal car buyer didnt take it into account. Furthermore, the trend of car brand fitting bigger and bigger wheels on their newest models. Previously, those B segment vios/city comes with 14-15 wheels and currently these models are fitted with 16-17 wheels.

My 2cents is, stick with those branded non-premium tires like hankook, goodyear, falken, nexen, toyo, maxxis or atleast the better known china tires (GITI, LingLong)

OR downsize your wheels to 17-18, and u will realize you can afford better tires like (Michelin, YOKO) and better comfort at the same price like ur 19s

If want to buy a car/SUV just for ADAS & value, you went for the wrong ride already.. Should just buy the cheaper Perodua Altiva/Aruz/Myvi.. laugh.gif
Smaller sport rim & cheaper tire replacement.. tongue.gif Just kidding.. biggrin.gif

When you buy a ride, you need to include tires, batteries, brake pads and other wear & tear parts as one of maintenance cost.. If want to buy cheap China tires as per feedback before at least go for more reputable bigger brands like Giti, Westlake, Sailoon & someone mentioned linglong.. Those reputable brands cost also not much difference compare to your double coin tyres.

If you ask me got difference between budget and premium tire. Yes for sure, from braking performance, grip/traction especially in wet situation budget tires will start to see their weakness.. Unless you can adjust your driving attitude by braking at a further distance & drive more safely in wet condition roads than maybe you can consider it..

At that time X70 was the cheapest car with ADAS with ACC. And I also want to have a car with strong metal. Myvi has ADAS, but the crash rating won't be as good as X70.

In the world of brands, many brands sell for high prices due to their premium branding and high profit margin.

Thanks for your advice. But these brands like hankook, falken or maxxis don't have sizes for 19inch for x70

Goodyear is actually premium brand, rivalling head to head with Michelin. Some Goodyear models are maybe even more expensive than the counterpart Michelin models.

well, it might be categorized as premium but majority of users consider Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone as the top tier. And generally their pricing is higher than others within the same category and sizes. Some pirellis are priced reasonably low is due to grey imports of Pirelli's that smuggled into Msia.

But all in all, tires pricing are largely dependent on countries it was produced, sizes available (popular sizes VS less popular sizes) as well as distributor pricing in our markets. Heck, some Giti tires are even more expensive than Yokohama.

Somewhat true but u are ignoring the costly R&D and extensive testing that these premium brands do.

I used cheapest tires before (Accelera, Achilles, Rovelo), mid tier (dunlop, goodyear, hankook, yoko) and also high (michelin, pirelli, bridgestone). And I can safely say that although the difference between high VS mid is not very significant if you are not pushing your limits. But comparing LOW vs MID, the difference is substantial even for normal driving. With these cheapest brands, after 1-2 yrs although u still have tire threads but the grip is totally out. biggrin.gif

Continental is also another premium brand.
