Hey guys,

I'm not a nascar nor F1 driver, I'm looking for my Jazz 2016 absorber replacement. Which one is a good replacement other than OEM? I believe there is a cheaper price with better quality out there. Should I change the spring too? My Jazz mileage is approaching 100K soon.

Thank you.

When I helped my sister to replace her absorbers on a 2015 Jazz, the cheaper ones were made either by APM, GAB, KYB or TRW. There are also several OEM China made ones on the market that are cheap but according to the foreman if the original ones lasted 100k then these would only last 40k and are much stiffer therefore you will have a bouncier ride.

I had it replaced with with TRW as it was sold in a set together with the mounting bearing and stopper.

No such thing as cheaper and better quality though, as cheaper ones are usually firmer and less comfortable than the original ones.

Springs will last the lifetime of the car unless you use your car as a lorry.

Change la...give your car a refresh on the absorber.

I've just changed mine 4 abs with spring and with all the bush as well as stabilizer link and under arm.

RM3k+ pocket damaged. But get the new car feel

I don't go to custom.

I used back all original

However if you have budget go for coil over spring

Just change to whichever suits your budget, OEM or ori both ok, however there are some aftermarket like kyb new sr which is slightly stiffer and different damping curve compare to stock, so it will make your ride and handling better

If want better aftermarket shocks for normal replacement go for KYB as it is the best among others. BTW Honda Absorbers got 1 big weakness that it is built with a plastic bush in it, once the lifespan reach like 80~100k it will automatically break down and wear out the absorbers from the inside.

If plan to own for long run, a lot of independent absorber service or modification house are doing a lot of these conversion to prevent this kind failure in future.

Do you feel 'funny' with the present absorber set? .and feel funny with Spring set?
Otherwise why change.....?
To satisfy an urge or itch to spend $$$, why not change to another hatch in new Yaris for comparison or.....
upgrade to a new Accord?

If Kayaba (KYB) RS Ultra is available for your car then get that. It's best value for money for sport absorbers but it's a bit firmer than normal/stock. Otherwise just get KYB Excel-G made in Japan. Also avoid GAB eventhough cheap cuz it's poor quality one.

Yes, go with KYB for best bang of bucks. GAB used to be good until they no longer made in Japan.
