Hi bros. I'm in the midst of getting my first bike. The Svartpilen 250/401 is my choice. However before I make any rash decision, anyone knows what's how's the maintenance cost?

Maintenance cost will be same with KTM, which means if you can find parts online, prices are not too bad. Husky specific parts would be another story. But general maintenance costs will be quite acceptable. It won't be kapchai cheap but won't be anywhere near the bigger bikes.

Bear in mind being a KTM it may also share some of KTMs niggles like random stalling and electronics issues. Drivetrain wise, most have been solved already. The 373cc engine in its latest guise has been around for a good few years already.

Hard to say. There isn't a lot of Huskies in the market. Perhaps check husky forums.

But it's a known fact that KTMs has its related issues. And the Husky being built on KTM running gear, probably inherited some of them. Even my Dominar has some KTM issues like random stalling. Rare, but does happen on and off.

But unless you are really going for that svartpilen look, the money you pay for the 401, really opens up a lot of other options.

If going with the 250, you might just as well go with the Japanese twin cyc bikes or something bigger.

Both bikes (and the duke) are great for city cut and thrust riding but if you are planning for extended highway rides, you might be best served with a bike that has more than a single cyc. The 373cc KTM mill is plenty fun with plenty of torque at 4k rpm and will do 150-160 all day, but the vibrations mean you will likely be very numb after an hour's ride at speed.

All bikes will consume oil, depends on how hard you ride them. I use about 200ml of oil per oil change if I do sustained highway rides at speed. Doesn't seem to use oil in city riding.

The KTM mill encourages hard riding because it has a very rewarding feel when you really wind it up.

Hi

Did u end up buying the Svartpilen? If yes, what are your reviews?

Im considering either svartpilen or g310R. Both second hand year 2022 model for commuting only. Really tough choice. Svartpilen wins in the look dept while g310r with it’s warranty and color (5 yr)
