QUOTE(mADmAN @ May 3 2022, 05:25 PM) I rarely ever hear bike shops doing custom racks tbh.. I once met a guy on a cb650f and he did his custom panniers n top rack at one of those grill makers... Job was good quality.... Noted bro, thank you.. Hopefully nearby my place one also good workmanship la if I'm going.. Still waiting for my bike and rack to reach hopefully mid of this month..

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ May 5 2022, 11:02 AM) What bike do you have? Perhaps look for shad racks online. Worst case is any metal works shop can do one for you. The best racks are the ones that comes as a set with the top box rack. Play close attention to where the racks mount to, the best ones mount to the rear set carriers. A lot of people tend to over load the cases and bend something in the process. Btw, rawtech is good. Gsx s750.. Can only get top rack for it.. Available side rack is for soft pannier only.. So I just bought the universal Shad side 3p rack.. Seems like Rawtech really good reputation ya.. Will try see if I can split it into few days for him to custom it so I don't have to leave the bike there.. There's always loads of bikes there whenever I passes by.. Btw, I'm still waiting for my bike hopefully this coming shipment can get.. Haha..

QUOTE(ZZR-Pilot @ May 7 2022, 12:13 AM) I came at a busy time and it took him almost a month to get mine done coz that place is a favourite among Triumph, BMW, Suzuki & Kawasaki ADV owners. On the other hand, you can customize kaww-kaww. I wanted my pannier racks to be symmetrical, really sturdy & be able to accommodate the bottom locking mounts of my Enduristan Monsoon Evo soft panniers, plus extra lashing points for additional straps & a toolbox. Also asked him to install a heatshield on the exhaust side to keep the heat off my soft pannier. For my crashbars, I wanted a low design with sturdy large diameter tubes that do not bolt to the headlamp mount (a known weak point in Hepco & Becker crash bar design for the new Triumph Tiger), plus separate spotlight mounts & powdercoated red to match the bike with an industrial rough texture. Also asked him to adjust the angle of my Shad 59x topbox plate & reposition the mounting points for my Aliexpress skidplate... hehe... He insisted that I leave the bike there the entire time, but it was worth the wait as he delivered very nicely. If you ding, scratch, bend or otherwise damage his products in any way, he can repair them or fabricate replacements. To me, that's the icing on the cake. My case definitely easier la, I just need a plate to extend from tail holes to the side coz i've already bought the universal shad bracket.. As for top rack, if he can finish fast then maybe do it same day la, else maybe add on later also can.. Crash bar can get for my model, so already ordered.. Maybe just need stainless steel bolt from him coz my previous crash bar's bold that came with it rusted in no time..

Finally done setting up all boxes.. DIY with Shad top rack and universal side rack.. Went to 2 custom makers and both having ridiculous waiting time.. End up just by rack and do by my own.. Result not too bad..

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jul 17 2022, 11:17 AM) Panniers look a lil high...pillion can sit comfortably? Yeap, nicest position is can lower around 2inch.. But to achieve that must do more intense cutting and drilling.. I do it at my friends workshop so a bit embarrassed to occupy his space and equipments coz his shop is very small and he got quite a lot of bikes to do.. I tried paying him but he denied, so I also try finish ASAP la coz I'm hogging his space for free.. I think if pillion not XXL size then should be fine coz distance between pannier is quite wide, anyway I don't think will carry pillion la coz my last bike 3 years also I ride solo only, haha.. Just that I need to raise my leg higher when getting on and off the bike now..
