nobody knows where or how latah comes from, but there are only (scientifically reported) a few race/tribes around the world yang got latah:

- some malay
- eskimo
- a southern japanese race/subrace i forgot the name
- a tribe in south america
- a subrace in france, hence the english name for latah

actually "discovered" aka documented by the whites through the japanese subrace first, not in our region.
