Yet to play AV after the patch, so how's Horde performance in AV ?

I'm in BG9 battlegroup.

A horde in my server reported a 4 in a row win >_>

like last AV weekend i had a 3 win in a row streak

just had my gang of people playing spartans while horde attacking.

amazingly TW wow servers have NO horde afkers
and yeah horde wins most of the avs here
been in 5 avs, won all 5

I have lost a few, mainly because of Alliance defending SH gy from the start. Horde, as usual, did not bother defending. Still, win % is quite high.

I'm an ally in BG9, Bloodlust.

Played 3 AVs after the patch and have yet to lose a game.

But they're all very close though. AV has been a lot more fun now. No more aoe-ing in horde's cave anymore

At least i won 2 out of 5 AV matches. Better than nothing.

Previously, i only win AV once in every "Darkmoon Faire" i think.

2am to 7am AV-ing, got around 10k honor, pretty good. and from 6k something revered to exalted too. XD

i dont know wtf happened to av really.... but ive played 9 games yesterday, and all of them victorious in under 15 mins, 2 games under 10 mins, and i got highest killing blow in 7 out of 9 games, and top 3 on the remaining 2.

Weapon- 1850
Shoulders- 2000

Those base on your Personal Arena ratings though, not your Team's rating. No news on other gears' requirements yet. Probably none.

Horde wins AV by using exploit on Marshals while they kill Vanndar.

People keep saying this but on my way to exalted Frostwolf on three characters on two battlegroups, I have yet to see the Vandar solo-pull.

I've seen it once. But there's one warlock stupid enough to send his Felguard on me while I was with the other marshals. The whole horde offense got wiped And I was the only one in D.

Really wished I took some screens. Was laughing my arse off too much.

exalted with frostwolf, playing av with pugs..and that exploit is nowhere can be achived that

1. Hunter on AOTC multishot all the marshall including vann and run as far as he can
2. van will reset 1dt
3. tank and 2-3 healer getting vann agro before all the marshall reset ( if the hunter manage to run as far as he can...to sp perhaps ..and none of the horge take the agro from the marshall )
4. Vann now fighthing teh horde using wall pull technique without aggroing marshall..

SO imagine a lot of team coordination there where a normal PUGS can even do that

and since AV afk patch is implemented, horde basically unleashed the very hatred and fury thats been buried deep under all these while, and now you call them cheating? lets grow some brains here ok?

well, laugh all you want, but gaining an assload of honor by over 70-80% AV win ratio with almost every AV topping KB and ALL wins are under 20mins excluding for that ONE match that lasted 40ish minutes. when me and my pvp crew went in it was a losing match, we turned the tide over by having 5 of us defending against 20ish alliance at FW gy and the horde eventually pushed to vandaar. losing match became a winning match.

lovin AV now.

If ur in my bg group and see me in the av. Just afk out cos i'm the exploit. lolol.

theres a new form of afk-ing in av and i started it! i basically follow the flow of mob where ever they go and all i do is /dance!

1) you still need to manually follow and actually type /dance right? afk means away from keyboard

2) you realize alliance can still buttsecks you while ur doing that and ur back to the cave/whichever gy nearest to you

3) you also realize that the only thing you are accomplishing is being an asshat, and if players log a ticket against you, you WILL be suspended right? (exploiting afk system/harrasing players offense and maybe other offenses that could be charged against you) and if theres multiple people logging that very same ticket on you, you're pretty much guaranteed a 3 days suspension at least.

at the end of the day, ur still in front of ur comp, looking at WoW, and actually taking effort to be an asshat. not to mention risking urself on gettin a few days ban.

Oh sure, it's your problem that your puny raid let 5-10 alliance slipped through Iceblood for FW/RH in the beginning and your raid starts at YOUR ENTRANCE. This is not exploit. Using bugged game mechanics to skip Marshals for Vanndar is an exploit.

Well, I hope other battlegroups has people who could change the way alliance plays and let horde cry even more for losing with exploit.

Battlegrounds are being fixed on future patches to make leeching even harder and more bug fixes.

same could be said bout you, its YOUR problem for letting people pulling all the marshals away and leave van alone to die. all you need to do is kill the puller and problem solve. or any healer healing the puller, also problem solve. hell, all you need to do is snare/cc (fear or sheep) the puller for maybe a second or 2 depending on how far the marshals are, and let the marshals kill him and problem solved.

I stopped pvp a long time ago to pve n still got more honor kills than both of u haha.

You scrubs really make me laugh. Yet, still losing with advantageous race. Why don't you wash and use your hands to eat rice instead since you want to compare it that way? It's even easier!!

Whoever that retired long ago should come back and give the new scrubs a beatdown again. I have no challenge 2 years ago on 1v1 even without GM gear. Scrubs my server is getting more aggresive too.

the only difference? alliance can do it without having a rain of arrows on their asses while horde have to tough it out getting pelted by annoying archers and casters/healers perma-stucked in combat unable to drink for no reason whenever theres ONE archer remaining on EITHER tower.

Speaking objectively, tristanx u dun have much to back urself up for now simply cos u are using ur experience from pre-bc. I can say the same shit and even though i've nvr achieved HWL status, i raped ppl real hard way back then too and hardly ever lost playing cross-bgs when i was in mugthol. My lifetime HKs can account for that and i nvr do dumb ass after i got exalted.

But pvp is different now and where it really shows is in arena. More isolated and controlled situations. And at least Quaza has something to show for but you on the other hand neglected the aspect of arena. Who's more credible its easy to see.

I too will give it a shot again ( i wan the gladiator title haha ) once S3 starts. Have been doin a bit too much PVEEEEEEE.

on a more serious note.

arenas arent as easy as many people think, it may as well be even harder than raids as theres no telling how your enemy will react instead of static mindless AI. only difference is that pve requires significantly more time, and more people obviously.

what makes it painful, when ur up high in ratings, most of your win yields less than 5 ratings or even 0 rating, and one loss can be as devastating as 20-30+ ratings.
not to mention, most if not all of your opponents are expected to be resilience/stamina decked, co-ordinated, and ready to kill and loot your ratings. even my health and resil i can die in a matter of 5 seconds. some well co-ordinated CC's on my healers and mistakes on my part on healing range/LOS will well guarantee that.

compare the above to scrub pvp (AV lol), av is just.... nothing.
i mean hell, in AV i can fool around act like a r-tard and i can still top KB. and i usually play AV with 700-900 ms ping with torrents in the background because i know my autoattacks are enough to kill most BG scrubs since im too heavy on resil/stam.

We'll see who is the scrub in s3. Plenty of noobs that thinks they are good just because of arena rating. Garbage are always a garbage. I'm done talking to a trash.

PvP has been boring when I retired 2 years ago. We are unmatched at that time and now we are already been forgotten at our server. I don't fall behind on the game engine even if I retired from PvP. There are plenty of noobs showed up and already think they are good. Since they want to put it on arena rating, I guess I have to show them again and I'll smack them like any other game with great win record.

Well i'm not sure how ur pvp gear is but if u indeed have no/minimal resilience gear since u havent pvp-ed for so long, no matter how good u are, i doubt u can maintain a great win record.

our friend here got 9k or barely 10k unbuffed hp with around 300 resil with ONLY honor gears. zero arena gears.

he could supposedly maintain a decent team, but then again hes a priest and usually they will get targeted first for insta-gibs.

I have all the PvP mounts but prefer the UD mount tho. One of these days I'll go farm Baron Rivendare for his Deathcharger reins. Too many people still want the ZG tiger mount, not much chance there!

For Hordies, Alliance in my BG ( BG9 ) ignoring IB,GALV and straight to FW or Hut, so Horde defender should choke them at TP and let them feel the rain of searing arrows and half dead when arriving FW.

I remember there was a hilarious video about Alliance bypassing the Horde base to the Relief Hut. "(insert name here) vs THE FLAG!" with slow dramatic music lol. First he showed how the alliance fought their way to the Relief Hut, then actually turned back to the fort and walked backwards (a whole bunch of them lol) from the slope to the fence to the waterfall and capped the hut.

AV Changes 2.3

As a continuing part of our improvements, we will be implementing the following changes in the next patch.

Strategy can be an important element of any battleground. We want to emphasize this in Alterac Valley more and give players additional meaning to both defending and attacking. To push the strategic element of the battleground to the next level we have changed how players maintain their reinforcements or deprive the other team of theirs.

Each team will have a starting reinforcement count. Reinforcements can be lost in significant amounts if a tower is destroyed or if Captain Galvangar or Balinda Stonehearth is killed. For each team member death, an additional reinforcement will be lost. On the death of General Drek'Thar or Vanndar Stormpike, all reinforcements are lost and the team is defeated. At any point in time, if a team is reduced to zero reinforcements, the opposing team will win the battle. Defending your own teammates, towers, and key NPCs will be an important aspect of maintaining team resources and achieving victory in Alterac Valley.

Warmasters can be the boon or the bane of any team. They are an important element for the defense of your general or the defeat of the opposing general. Warlords and their general will be more closely linked in the next patch. Pulling one is a guarantee the other will come as well. Each team begins with four Warmasters. Destroying a tower will eliminate the associated Warmaster. Unlike the current game play, however, destroying the enemy tower will not add a Warmaster to your own side.

We will be changing the pace of the battle slightly with a reduction in the time needed to control a tower or graveyard. Where it currently takes five minutes to gain control, the time will be reduced to four minutes. The honor for capturing a tower will also be increased.

Graveyards can be an important resource for getting your teammates back into the battle more quickly. Currently, players can sometimes be sent to their starting tunnels far from the battlefront. This can often be an inconvenient location to respawn and more out of the way from the action than we would like, to correct this, players will instead respawn at a team-controlled graveyard. Should the team not have a graveyard under their control, they will respawn in the starting tunnel.

Players will only be awarded bonus honor during the battle for destroying enemy towers and slaying the enemy Captain. Once the battle is concluded, bonus honor will be awarded for intact towers, a surviving Captain, and for victory in battle. The bonus honor awarded should be similar to previous totals, but will reward players for taking more active roles in Alterac Valley toward defending or attacking key locations and NPCs.

Lastly, we are changing NPC interactions within Alterac Valley. We have reduced the number of elite NPCs in Stormpike and Frostwolf holds as well as sent all Commanders and Lieutenants out of Alterac Valley. They are currently in search of other battle opportunities. This should reduce the amount of NPCs that players will have to fight and place more focus on PvP combat over key locations on the map.

Strategy is the name of the game in Alterac Valley, and these changes will bring out the need for more teamwork and coordination from both the Horde and the Alliance as they vie for domination of this battleground.
