QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 27 2022, 10:24 AM) Bingo, got Win 7 product key sticker on my old laptop! Hope this route is possible: install win 11 on my new PC, later use the Win 7 key to register and activate. Possible? I cannot do that on the laptop as it has been dead for some years now. Yes, it's possible. You'll know when you try it. I used the Win 7 Pro OA (OEM) key from a Lenovo M73 and applied to a fresh Win 11 install on my recently upgraded PC. QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 29 2022, 09:33 AM) Excellent news. Just to be sure, you installed Win 11 on a new PC and later entered the Win 7 key, and activated the OS? Mine is just Win 7 home. Hope it will work too. Yes, I installed Win 11 on the new PC. Skipped entering a product key. After installation, in Activation Settings, it would say Windows can't be activated because there'e no product key. Then I entered the above mentioned Win 7 Pro OA key and activated successfully. The COA on the Lenovo looks like this. This post has been edited by soonwai: Apr 29 2022, 10:46 AM

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 29 2022, 04:27 PM) Thanks. I was planning to enter the key during installation. I will try to do that via activation setting. Entering key during installation also should be ok.
