Thunderbolt macam vaporware from shintel No more news for the past 5 years already
*
you think its easy to double clock rate ka? somemore need to be stable for at least 1 meter of lenght.
40gbps over 4 data pin is already impressive enough.

even if intel release thunderbolt5, it going to be exclusive for intel chipset only, there is no way for intel to license that to the like of apple or amd for few years.

Except for external GPU enclosure, I've heard of no use of them.
So, like vapourware.

Of proliferate up to thumbdrive, external HDD, and mass adoption by monitors like display port, then can argue.
Now, really feel like vapourware.

current thunderbolt4 can only drive two display of 4k@60fps and 2k@60fps (HBR3). sorry, its not enough. we need more bandwidth.
vaporware or not, belambak device out there already utilize thunderbolt protocol.

not using thunderbolt then use what? even usb4 is using thunderbolt protocol

but thunderbolt still use USB-C connector and cross compatible with normal USB.
thats not really an issue.

controller need to be developed what.
with fixed usb-c connector and electrical medium, manufacturer only have 6 data pins to play around, it is not easy to develop a new controller that will be twice as fast as current controller.

and we all know intel current focus right now is making faster CPU(probably GPU too), they dont have much resource to play with interconnect stuff.

Nothing to substitute lightning in audio production work.
USB regardless latency is too high, I'll keep my lightning audio interface and let EU have their drama.
*
what are you bullshitting?
computer dont use lightning port and ipad already moved to usb-c for quite some time already.

also lightning data protocol are mostly usb.

Compare the specs for both product by same company:

Transfer rate you check yourself.

Actually iPhone needs to get rid of the obsolete lightning port with USB2 speed

iPhone 14 Pro will be equipped with camera capable of 8K video, how the hell it gonna use USB2 speed to transfer out to iPad/PC for postprocessing

If Apple don't intend to make iPhone camera industry grade, then what's the point to put top notch sensor and lens on it

wasnt most apple users keep suggesting 'airdrop'?

mana la tau gigabit speed over wifi, that alone should compete with usb3.0

try to Airdrop a 10GB file and see if you can transfer it without interruptions
