quite similar background to force some maker to change/withdraw
Huawei 5G technology also force to withdrawn from certain markets in US/EU.
It's not able whether can use or can't be used. it more to their principle issue, i can demand you do XXX, but you can't ask me YYY...

ANd between US and EU, they also has arguement,
Long time ago, France Alstom used to be very strong in power generation...
So US caught their CEO and charged for bribery...
After that, Alstom divided to few division and GE (USA) took major part of it.

Now, when US product getting into EU, such limitation applied.

So in summary, it not about technology, it's POLITIC..
