besides ST1 (15 steps) vs MT1BS (24 steps), is there any other differences between these 2 series in terms of long lasting/QC or build materials etc?

Hi sifus2, been browsing for adjustable suspension for my ride recently, came across with HWL brand series of ST1 and MT1BS.

QUOTE(StrikeQUAN @ May 3 2022, 10:38 AM) Depends on what you use your car for, but generally front soft rear stiff about 2k difference, for example if front is 8k then rear is 10kSquare setup is more if all rounder and you can use the soft hard adjustment to fine tune the ride to either oversteer rear stiff setup or daily drive understeer bias Tyres size matters as well, but generally same width same model for front rear is recommended unless your car is having staggered setup from factory StrikeQUAN liked this post

I am currently using this combo on the front. At the rear i am using fts shocks. Problem is, the front is too low that it compromised the lower arm geometry (I don't care about finger measurements btw). I am actually thinking of changing to HWL ST1 as its not that expensive compared to other HLSH+BS absorbers. How much more uncomfortable is it compared to ftuned cls? What spring rate your friend were using before? |

What spring rate your friend were using before? I would say not much but you do feel a bit more uncomfortable. For rear you need to remove the stock bumpstop/stopper, if not it be hitting it and be very harsh. Ftuned CLS alone doesn't really determined the harshness/comfort, is more with what shock absorber you pair with. I think spring rate was what it came with, front 6k, rear 4k+helper |

QUOTE(bo093 @ Oct 25 2022, 09:22 AM) How low? Lower arm pointing upward? Correct, lower arm is already straight on normal load, which means when cornering, it will point up more. Even after installing extended ball joint, its still not enough. Previously it was slightly higher when the front was using fts shocks. I really can lean more into the corner. But the problem is that shock doesn't even last 1 year. Feel softened already. I would say not much but you do feel a bit more uncomfortable. If its only slightly uncomfortable, maybe I'll just just bite the bullet and go with it 😬. |

Just a warning, my level of being uncomfortable is quite high tolerance. |

Meaning for normal people is very uncomfortable? Or the other way around? Those extended ball joint works very little, since they mostly move the centreline of the arm only rather than move the roll centreline. The ball part of the ball joint need to be move with the arm (downward). For some people maybe uncomfortable, I been used to uncomfortable suspension for a long time. |
