I have always had plaster ceilings. But don't know whether it's due to the wind or humidity or whatsoever, i live in Condo, very very high floor. They will crack, so have to fix it. There's another room, the edges of the plaster ceiling (those edges with designs) actually fell off. Luckily no one was there when it fell off.

Are there any other alternatives to plaster ceilings that actually last long? And quite as pretty as plaster ceiling too? Or we actually need to replace it or they can just do a simple restorations? Restorations would be better, i assume that it's not as messy as replacing the ceiling cause need to move all the furniture as well!!!

Since i might be doing some simple renovation soon. Is it going to be extremely dusty fixing the ceilings? We are still going to be in the house.

Plywood ceiling.

You can use the same mounting brackets as plaster ceiling.

Some months back I visited a showhouse where the plaster ceiling was a wall paper. Definitely looked nice.

Personally prefer no plaster ceiling as I've found that it affects my sinus.

This is small rectification work.

Strengthen the ceiling footing and replaster the crack. If just replastering, the crack will reappear. I did that for my kitchen. Engage a proper guy to do it.
