Anyone can suggest a place around KL/PJ/Damansara that sells most choices of camera bags?

What sort of a bag are you looking for? What brand and what type? Lowepro?

I saw a lot of places with loads of bags, YL Camera in Pudu Plaza, J-One at Amcorp Mall, Shong Lee at 1 Utama and other places as well.

Best is to actually find the exact one that you are interested in then slowly search out.

Lowepro would be a lil' bit too expensive I guess though I know the quality is very good.

Maybe this time I'll search for the average type.

I would prefer shops that offer various sizes of bags rather than various brands (combination of these both are the best!).

Most brands have different price ranges for different bag models. What is your current budget? What type of bag are you looking for? Pouch? Sling bag? Bag pack?

I was window shop at low yat(lobby) and they have camera fair held till sunday.
There are few selections of bags that somehow attracts me and will be coming back again on weekend for grab.

you may want to look at Jenovah, or Bagman.
Pretty good features, and um, although they are original brands, sometimes considered as copycats of lowepro, crumpler, etc. I've checked out jenovah myself and its zippers and clip-type locks compare badly to lowepro's. Feels too flimsy.

Not only is the quality of the material a concern here, but the design of the bag itself. Having the right amount of compartments at the most intuitive places would make a real difference. I think you've to consider the natural elements as well. Completely zipped and waterproof bags keep rain and sand at bay. Other manufacturers may neglect these aspects to cut cost.
Anyway, most bags will be fine for your equipment as long they have good firm padding, and as long as you're not the hardcore/adventure sort.

was using a free nearly-mediocre dslr bag for months fine, but got Lowepro now.
Getting Lowepro won't be a mistake.


Went to Bintang Maju at Maju Junction Ground Floor today, manyyyy bags there, good selection of lowepro.
YL Camera at Pudu Plaza first floor, too.
Fotoflash (i think that's the name) at KLCC 3rd or 4th floor, decent selection of the less popular brands but still pricey prolly due to the shop's rental there.
There's a Crumpler shop in KLCC as well. the last time i went the dslr bags were out of stock. Salesgirl got my number and promised to call when the stock suppose to come 2 weeks later, but no news. :/

Im currently using a SteinZeiser to carry by camera gear. Its a sling type bag like a Lowerpro STEALTH REPORTER. Reasonably built with adequate padding around the sides, zipper top cover then a clip lock to secure it. Has compartments inside of the top cover to house small accessories like mem cards and cleaners as well as a pocket in front for stuff like cloths/filters/ which I use to fit in my gorrilapod. Has enough room to fit a Camera+batt grip with a wide lens on + a tele lens plus 2 other (small-mid)lenses. To top it off, it has a zipper at the bottom which opens to reveal a rain proof cover that shields most of the top and bottom of the bag so protect from the elements. Costs around RM130.

Budget probably below Rm100. Yup, looking for those sling type.
