I felt the problem was more of the midfield getting overwhelmed.
The back 4 is the most visible because Brighton kept camping on the edge of our box and these are similar symptoms during Ole's time as well when the midfield battle is lost.

We had no runners in midfield or upfront, only Elanga. Brighton knew this and poor kid kept getting dumped on everytime he got on the ball. Bruno, Mata, McTominay & Matic had no energy to match the buzz generated by the Brighton midfield and were sliced through like a hot knife through butter. Yes the back 4 could be better but they had it really tough with midfield runners regularly overrunning them. At times, you could see the defence throwing up their arms wondering who was marking who.

It is obvious that Brighton studied our last match and decided to attack our midfield with a high energy press. Our midfield just didn't have the energy to match and by passed through.

Again, this is a symptom of a midfield collapse like how it was under Ole. Main striker isolated upfront. Defence overwhelmed and camping at the edge of our box.
No point assigning blame at this point, we all know the problems in the squad. And Rangnick deciding to axe certain players also means nobody is really playing for him. Let's just finish off the last game and start cutting the rot in this team. Can't wait for the transfer window to start.

For me, I think if Ole, keep losing 3, 4, 5 goals also can be given 3 years, Ten Hag shud be also given at least 3 years.

Use Klopp as an example, I don't mind we getting no.8 next season. The current problem of this club is just too big and too broad.
U ask Klopp, Guardiola, or Ancelotti come, they also need 3 years. Some more no guarantee.
However will fans have that patient to wait another 3 years before "Ten Hag out"?

I think the important thing is the tactics shown by Ten Hag.
If the tactics is there, just that certain players unable to cope, then fans will have more patient.
